personalizing a quilt

Apr 02, 2009 3 Replies

I would like to personalize the new baby quilt I am making with initials in the corner. I am finished with the top and ready to do that. I don't have an embroid. machine. Would have to do it by hand. Any suggestions on websites to find patterns (outlines) for initials. I can cross stitch. I am really excited about this quilt. It is for my 3rd. grandbaby to be.

Thanks much, Nancy in IL

Hi Nancy,

Umm... what's wrong with computer fonts? Type what you want - as big as you want - with a word processor, PowerPoint, whatever you've got, print it out, and use it directly, or trace the outline on a light table. If you don't currently have a font that you like, there are literally tens of thousands of free fonts (Windows and/or Mac) available to download on the web - many are outline (open-faced) fonts, if that's what you need. Just google "free fonts" and go exploring.
