Phew!

Thanks a lot, Estelle. No this wasn't hand-dyed fabric. It was a line of fabric I bought years ago from Doughty's! What you can't see from the photographs is that there is a sort of marble-y decoration in gold on each of the fabrics, so very appropriate for depicting a marble floor! I have another set of another type of 'marble' fabric for the 'steps and side panels' - when I get around to it. The main sanctuary floor will be done with Cherrywood, because the colours are so gorgeous - I bought a set in Paducah. And I haven't decided on the fabric for the side sanctuary floor yet - could be cracked ice or fossil fern, or something like that? I might spot a new line that will do fine, sometime.

We'll miss you at the show, but I'm sure you will enjoy yourself with your little charge.

Oh Roberta, how kind. Thank you so much. You are one of the few who have seen the floor photos themselves. Sounds like you think I did it justice. I'm really glad, because I had been thinking of offering the set to the Cathedral when I've finished all four. I'm so glad it wasn't a disappointment to you, after the quilting had been done. I usually fail so miserably in that stage.
