quilt class nearly done, but........

what do you do when your remaining student forgot the whole "Iron seams as you go"? rule??

Teresa has made a lovely twin-size quilt for her new grandson (she wanted it to be something he could use for a while), and did all the sewing by hand - she has an aversion to machines. She is finding, now that she is getting ready to put the last bit on the top (an 8-inch border) that her stitching isn't as good as it should be, but she and I cauight everything and got it tightened up.

However, none of the edges are even, which I told her wasn't that uncommon, particularly for a first-time quilter. Since she doesn't have the rulers or rotary cutter, I told her that i would even everything up for her. Didn't anticipate the entire thing being done with no ironing! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, the good thing is that it is almost done, she did a great job for a first quilt (and one handsewn together at that!) and she had fun. In fact, she is already looking forward to doing a quilt for her other grandson!!

Woohoo!!
