Quilting, A "Dicy" Situation.

Ok, here is a definite example of having way too much time on your hands. What you have is a pair of dice in paradise; Or at least in my van in paradise. Or what passes for paradise in Central Ohio, if that is possible. I thought it would be fun to make these up and show you what you can do for that significant other in your life. My significant other, has stated she doesn't want me to do her a set of dice for her car, but your significant other might be amenable to this idea. Maybe it is a guy thing about dice hanging from the rear view mirror, that brings back memories of their own James Dean youth fantasies. Whatever, Here they are, and they are Hanging In state, and proud of it. The Squares (dots) and quilting lines are 1/2" and the dice are 4" cubed. with Wool Batting. I am now going back outside and get back to work on house repair work. It was a fun diversion and will provide some humor in the future, if not the present.

I think they're great, John! Can a compromise be made and have them sitting below the back window? Your work is always so much fun to see. Donna in WA

John, I don't think you're going to be able to hide your condition much longer. Polly

And I thought you were going to say something about our Kate. LOL Those are pretty cute but you have way too much time on your hands. One thing that folks across the country can all agree on is that there is always house repair work of some kind that needs done. I find myself dreaming of high rise condominiums this time of year. Thanks for sharing. Taria

My wife and I have this same conversation. We harken back to the days when we were first married and lived in an apartment, in San Francisco. We used to jump on the BMW motorcycle and head off to the country for a weekend getaway at a moments notice. Never any hesitation because we had to do "work on the house". When our doggie heads off to the great kennel in the sky, we plan on downsizing and returning to that more spontaneous way of living with far less demands on our time and more time to explore those things that are of a travel nature. I plan on holding one of the greatest tool sales that this area has ever seen. It alone will boost the local economy far more than stimulus from Washington DC. At least it will boost my personal economy.

ROFL -- I love them! Our car can never have any kind of political statement, bumper sticker or the like on it (giving that DH is a member of the Fourth Estate and must remain ever vigilant against bias or the appearance of bias). That means it's dull as doughnuts. But your dice are a marvel. They announce a certain world view without being political or socially identifiable or .... anything. Just happy about quilting. I love this. I vote for having them hang high and proud!
