re-doing the system to support all my quilting needs

It is now just about 5:a and I am still very much awake. My computer started lagging earlier today and for the life of me I couldn't figure it out. As things went from bad to worse over the day it became obvious to me that if I was going to save anything I would have to start the system over completely. With that decission made I began backing up all my important quilting goodies. I then moved everything possible to other drives. I really thought I would be able to fix the problem but after I spent better than 10 hours at the monitor and only little progress I knew it was time to format the drive and start all over. So I did. So at 1:a I reinstalled windows and then my hardware and then started on my software. I haven't put in but a couple of the pieces of my quilting software. I also discovered that it was going to be necessary to make a few other changes. I am giving up Netscape to go to Explorer. The new changes with Netscape and their mailer are not pleasing to me so tonight I am using Outlook Express for the first time. Hopefully I have it at least minimumally configured so I can post here. I will also be using Explorer for my browser. So both of these will be very new experiences for me. I have taken a small break here though. I rested for about an hour then came back to write this message. Would you believe I even did 3 quilt blocks while I was doing this major over haul. now to see if this message post the way I hope it should. julia

if you decide you would prefer to look into alternatives Firefox is a good browser and Thunderbird is a good email client

Well, Julia, welcome to Outlook Express. For the most part, they are friendly and reliable. It does seem to some of us that at holiday time, they bring their toddlers to work with them and put them in charge. Other than that, we do just fine. Polly

Wow, I'm impressed! I barely trust myself to change the settings! I use OE for my mail and really like it....even when SBC Yahoo took over and I had the option to just use Yahoo as my main mail I stuck with OE. I like the format of it........

I used to have Netscape......now I can use either IE or my main Yahoo browser.......almost never have issues........

Good to see you are back with the group......what blocks are you working on?
