Re: Star Muddle - A vote???

WOW!! That border design looks great and certainly does contribute to the design more than just "framing" it!! I haven't really focused on borders, I really like that effect. Thanks, I might just do that!

Well, something like this is strictly personal taste here, and I don't claim to really know that much about color. But I like number three the best. Pleasing and easy to look at.

Double take here DeB, how did you do that? (technically - copy the pic, change format? can't be imported to EQ5 unless it is bitmap, then can only be pasted, not modified...so I thought hmmm)

Wendy and Ann are right. Go with #2!! Here's what I think: #2, #1, #3. I might like #2 even better if you swap the reds and blues in those stars. Same value placement, just swap out to have more red. IMO, #2 has more life and movement. TTFN.

Kitty, I copied & pasted it into Windows Paint, then copied & pasted & copied & pasted & pasted & pasted & did some image flips & well ... you get the idea. I played the entire morning away!

I figured that if'n you liked the idea, you probably still have it in EQ5 ... so format didn't really matter, and I don't have EQ anyway. Enjoy playing! :^)

I can see that it took some work. Loved the result. Thanks so much for a great idea DeB.

Hey Lia, thanks for having a look :)

It's actually a mottled burgundy, not purple, sorry the colors really haven't been coming out in the pics. Both the blues are mottled as well, and the tan background, a little darker than shown in the pics, is sort of a speckled mottled sandy looking fabric so I chose a solid crisp white to set all those off and to have a contrast since all the other fabrics are quite similar in texture. It's hard to tell from the pics, I know. The EQ5 quilt pics were colored with fabric scans of these fabrics, so the actual appearance would lie somewhere in between.

And I really like the secondary circle pattern that the burgundy tips make, so #3 would keep that going.

Hi Kitty,

I really like Star 2,- it's a bit 'deeper' looking Lynn

Hey Lynn

Thanks for having a look :) I liked it too, I just agree that it won't work as well in this particular design. I'm in love with stars so maybe I'll do some like it on a different background for a different piece, maybe a Christmasy (sp?) type runner or hanging. Almost the time to start thinking about holiday projects.

And I didn't get a chance to say hi yet, so welcome to the group! :)~
