Resting on my laurels

I'm not sure where that expression originated but that's what I'm doing. My Irish Chain scrappy quilt is successfully, p-l-e-a-s-i-n-g-l-y arranged. I simply sit here enjoying the way it plays nicely together. Much too often someone here posts a question, gets many replies and never lets us know the outcome. So - I wanted to let you know that your help was just great. If you have not, consider printing or copying the thoughts shared on arrangement. It began May 23rd. One day you will need it. Well . . . except for Pat on Her Hill who gets the vapors if you mention the word 'scrappy'. Polly

I'm glad to read that you have it "artfully" arranged....... 1/2 the battle is over! And I'm not gonna ask exactly what body part a "laurel" is........

Dear Polly,

Well, I have two laurel bushes in my backyard and I know I'd never rest on them. It'd be mighty uncomfortable ;-)

Glad to hear that you're pleased with your quilt - enjoy!

Bet you barely needed our advice! Scrappy quilts are just so appreciative of any little effort, they go right together.

When you have single-handedly rescued the republic from disaster or completed a quilt, a grateful citizenry (or maybe Winged Nike Goddess of Victory) awards you a wreath of laurel to adorn your noble brow. Then you can sit back in your recliner, with your feet up and a comfy pillow where it does the most good, and just rest. Roberta in D, Queen of the Scrap Heap

Okay, since I have the laurel bushes - How do I make a laurel wreath for Polly's noble head?

Just do a regular Christmas wreath, leaving out the pine and fir and mistletoe and holly big red bow and twinkly lights. On second thought, leave in the twinkly lights. Roberta in D

Never mind. I'm through resting on my laurels. I pin-basted the quilt last night and was just real proud that DH didn't have to call a tow truck to come hoist me up off of the floor. Polly

Okay, if you say so - just remember if you ever decide that you need a laurel to rest on - you can count on me!!!
