Sad news

While I was in Houston, DH had to make the heart-breaking decision to have our Dexter put down. We'd known he was not doing really well, but he wasn't yet suffering, and he was still happy. However, while I was away, his hindquarters gave out completely and he lost control of his bowels. For a proud dog like Dexter, that was pretty awful -- not to mention the fact that he could only drag himself around. DH called to give me the news as he was on the way to the vet's office.I'm thinking that Dexter is reunited with our little Tuppence at the Bridge now; they were best buddies, and I think Dexter really missed her when she died two years ago. I just wish I could have said good-bye to him, but I'm glad he's not suffering.
