Tyler's Hug/Quilt of Valor

I have received the most wonderful blocks from:

Cynde in Albuquerque, NM who is a Gulf War Vet making her block extra special. Therese in Bakersfield, CA Diane in Inverness, FL Nancy in Worton, MD Michelle in Pahrump, NV Helen in Moss Point, MS MaryAnn in RI

I have received many emails telling me that blocks are on the way. This is going to be one great quilt. Pictures of all the blocks and the work in progress will be posted to

(have to add current blocks today).

A sincere thank you to all.

Just received blocks from:

Mary in Cresell, OR Connie in Vancourver, WA Willene in Bentonville, AR

I'm going to shoot pics now and will post all at

You may have to guess at who's who since I'm using the names off the envelopes/blocks instead of NG names.

Its lovely to see the individual blocks, aren't they all wonderful.

Also it will show those who are a little nervous of joining the hug group that you can do both complicated and simple blocks, either of the specified sizes, and how other people sign theirs. Makes it less daunting.

I really enjoy doing hugs, though I'm not doing this one due to the quick turn-around time required and DD's wedding next week.

I'll send one for you Sally. We wouldn't want sweet Sally at the Seaside not to have a block in this Hug. Consider it done.

That is kind of you. A block by proxy!

I try to get them off at the beginning of the asking time. They have taken as little as 5 or 6 days, but a recent one took 4 weeks airmail

- must have been by birdmail!! Someone suggested that it was because of security, but it didn't resemble a suspicious package at all to me

- just looked like a letter.

Thank you so much

Did my block get lost somewhere down the road?

Haven't received a block from you yet. I'll post the names and pictures upon receipt each day.

No problem. Glad I could help. This hug wouldn't look right if it didn't have a block with your name on it.

I think dropping your machine on the floor must be the corollary to "a hammer can fix anything"

I'm glad your machine works. Have fun sewing again!

Just goes to prove what my Daddy always said - "when all else fails, get a bigger hammer." She's a sleeping beauty that needed more than a gentle nudge to wake her from her long slumbers. (VBG!)

The story I read was that she adopted him in this shape. He apparently was abandoned. I don't agree that she should get money from his condition but I'm glad she gave him a home. I always adopt the unwanted ones. Unfortunately, most of the cops and vets know this and that's how I wind up with so many dogs and such a big vet expense at the end of the year.

Give me the dunce hat for the day. For what ever reason I thought I mailed your block to you weeks ago. Because I email Karen, when my blocks our going out in the mail, I was going to double check with Karen, if she received my email that I finished it..

while looking for Karen's email, I ran into a new email folder I made named " Quilting Hug Blocks" and load and behold yours and kates are in the box.

Susan, I keep going to your webshots place hoping to see the newer blocks for Tyler. All it will show me are the first dozen or so that you put up. Has my computer gotten carried away practicing safe internet - or are there still problems there? Polly
