UFO is good, walk away

Some time ago I made nine blocks - red sailboats with blue sky and white sails. Actually the sails weren't quite that boring, the white has little bumble bees buzzing around. Still. The blocks bored me to death. Totally insipid. I set them aside and moved on to something, anything! more interesting. When I was feeling very self-satisfied today about having lots of UFO complete, my beginner quilter unearthed the 9 boats and said "Here you go." Oh swell. They were just as dismal as they were when I put them away. Thinking through the stash, I remembered Pizza Party by Ami Simms. Nothing logical about a pizza tablecloth sashing sailboats, I know, but it was just the magic I needed. Don't let a UFO make you feel guilty; walking away sometimes is the best answer. Polly

They make interesting shop rags in my basement. Good for Oil changes in the garage, also. They lend a festive aire to the underside of an automobile up on blocks.

One day, John. One day. I'm going down to DH's shop and steal everything on his clothesline that he saves for grubby rags. Gross! How that dear man can have everything there waxed and polished and lined up in order - with the worst looking stained towels imaginable just baffles me. On 2nd thought, naaah. I probably wouldn't live to regret it. Polly
