Very, Very, VERY OT Public Service Message VBEG

I will seek and find you . .

I shall take you to bed and have my way with you

I will make you ache, shake and sweat until you moan and groan.

I will make you beg for mercy, beg for me to stop.

I will exhaust you to the point that you will be relieved when I'm finished with you.

And, when I am finished, you will be weak for days.

All my love,

The Flu

Now, get your mind out of the gutter and go get your flu shot! ___________________________________________________________

Leslie, I got mine back a few weeks ago, the first day they were at the local clinic I had taken my dad for some blood work and we both went on and took them.

Just after Hurricane Katrina, someone decided that everybody here was going to get a flu shot. They sent in a no nonsense gang of nurses who had been rejected by the Marine Corps as too brutal. By golly we got our shots. The truth is - those nurses were so fast we never knew what hit us. Polly

I got mine a couple weeks ago at work. One of my judges went with me. Judge Klopfer has only one full arm (the other is prosthetic from 3" below the shoulder down to his hook-type hand). He had me pin a note on his good arm to make sure the nurse would give him the shot in the correct arm ;)) And the other sleeve had a note that said "See other note"

When I got done getting my injection, I went back out to waiting area and announced "okay, next victim! Oh, I mean, next patient!" It helped people relax a little.

Got mine 6 weeks ago, right at the beginning of the campaign here in Spain. Having had the flu shot for several years now, I never had a reaction until this year; my arm was bruised and red and swollen; remind me next year not NOT) to let the student nurse use me as a guinea pig!!! and no, I did not tell any of my patients about my reaction!!

...And now booked for next Friday! I keep thinking I ought to request one, but I'm not so vulnerable as he is, being type 1 diabetic.

Best way, really! I will always remember the story of my dad and the shots he needed for Singapore... Little gentle new to the RAF nurse gets Pa all ready for this whole slew of Great Big injections, and a ikkle diddy teeny weeny 'one shot' disposable summat-or-other... decides to start with that one... Goes gently... Very fine needle on shot bends before it gets through tough ole RAF Ossifer Hide Mk II (Tanned by Med sun)... Breaks second needle without penetrating... Pa says the lass is wincing for him (*he* wasn't bothered! He'd had so many in his career a few more were a minor irritation rather than a big deal). MO comes in to see why she's fussing. Looks at evidence... Picks up third shot in palm of hand, slaps it in arm. All done! Yay! Nurse looks about ready to faint. Pa says Thanks - I was about to do it myself! MO says: Nurse, you have to be brutal and get it done quick - we don't have time for all this messing about! There are 30 more bods out there waiting for their shots, and I want them out by 9:30! It's ten past now...

She almost did it, and none of the guys complained!

Worst I ever had was a bad reaction to something they gave me for going to Malta. My arm swole up from finger tips to ear! Most painful was when the vampire did a perfect first time and totally painless entry for a slew of blood tests: no bother until she took it out! OWOWOWOWOWOWOW! Boy did that HURT! She'd never had one that hurt on the way OUT before!
