Wallhanging done with pics

I'm happy dancing to have this embarrassingly old UFO done and moved into the finished category!

I've named the wallhanging "Angie's Garden". The quilt is the product of a round robin I was involved in approximately 14 years ago. I did the Dresden Plate in the center and the borders were added by other quilters. (There was actually another border on the outside of the quilt which was lovely, but the quilter accidentally snipped one of the blocks--she didn't know it--and there was no way for me to repair or match fabric to create a new block for it. I removed her blocks and donated them to a group making quilts for women's shelters.) Angie was the quilter who put the appliqued border on. I "met" Angie on the World Wide Quilting Page and we became fast email friends. (We never met in person.) She and I were in several swaps and round robins together. We corresponded several times a week. She passed away in 2002. So now, I'm naming this quilt for her:

That's really pretty, Michelle. Must be a lovely feeling to have it done where you can look at it with pride and nostalgia (for your friend). It was worth the wait. . In message , Michelle C writes

in several swaps

I like it! I have one similar in colors that was done in 1997. I've been wanting to get it hung up on the wall again but it is so big that it is not easy.

Thank you! Yes, the idea of hanging it IS daunting. I put a post up discussing that very issue. Do you have a picture of your wallhanging?

Thanks Patti. It is a nice remembrance of Angie. Although I must say, 14 years was pushing it! Actually, I've got a quilt top--one of the block swaps in which Angie participated--from the same era, waiting for attention. Eke!

Thanks Chipper! Round robins are so fun! This one was done solely by internet. I never physically met anyone in the exchange (and yet, I can honestly say I count Angie as one of my dearest friends). So after the center was made, I mailed it out to the next person on the list, (and received one to work on), so never saw the quilt again until it was done. I was totally blown away.
