I had light blue chipboard number so I cut a piece of paper to cover it and then xyroned the paper and attached it to the number. I didn't like the look after all and I peeled the paper off. (the surface of the chipboard letter was glossy so it wasn't too difficult to do). Just fooling around I pressed the number into a green stamp pad and then added embossing powder and heated it. The surface because there was a residual amount of glue on it came out looking like hammered metal and had I used black ink and powder or maybe a silver or brown color it would have been very realistic looking.
