Accidental Discovery

I had light blue chipboard number so I cut a piece of paper to cover it and then xyroned the paper and attached it to the number. I didn't like the look after all and I peeled the paper off. (the surface of the chipboard letter was glossy so it wasn't too difficult to do). Just fooling around I pressed the number into a green stamp pad and then added embossing powder and heated it. The surface because there was a residual amount of glue on it came out looking like hammered metal and had I used black ink and powder or maybe a silver or brown color it would have been very realistic looking.

How cool. I like getting unexpected results from trying something different. Can't wait to see what it looks like.

Sounds awesome! I know DD#1 used UTEE on some chip board shapes she had painted first to match a page she was doing & that looked awesome too.

Well my son's ring Mass has been canceled for the THIRD time, this time they let us know a whole hour before it was suppose to start. The 1st time was for weather (it was raining), the next time because of a schedule conflict and now tonight they screwed up on the date and the Church was unavailable.

Anyway, I took a picture, it is the number 1. I tried to get it at an angle so it would catch the light rather than straight on. The picture really doesn't pick it up that well.

That does look like metal. Great. I wonder if you could get the same effect by using a glue stick, rather than using up your xyron? HMM>> Tks for sharing

I don't have a glue stick to try it but I don't think that it would work as the glue in a stick goes on smooth and the xyron adhesive after I tore off the letter was textured.

This is true, I hadn't thought of that.

I can't say about a glue stick, but I have used my Zig Pen to make the embossing power stick. It works just fine.
