Boy Scout Album

My DH went with our troop to Philmont for 7-10 days of backpacking last summer. It's our troop's 50 anniversary and I want to put together an album for them. I've been scrapbooking for a while, but would love to hear from those who've done Scout pages/albums before. Does anyone have any ideas they'd like to share?

Many thanks.

I haven't done a Scouting album, but I saw Scouting Scrapbook paper at my local DollarTrees and wished I knew someone who was doing one. See if that store is near you.

My sister is the cubmaster for the pack here and she does an album for the pack. One idea I had for her was to take a LO with a group shot and have each of the boys autograph the page around the photo. Be specific when identifying the boys and do lots of journaling. You don't know where the album will end up fifty years from now. Maybe in your local museum as part of a scout display. My uncle passed away this past January. His second wife brought me all of the family picutres he had to go through because she knows I do the family genealogy. In the box were several packages of photos of him and his scout days (camping trips, cook-outs, etc) from over fifty years ago. No names anywhere. She thought I might be able to use them for the scouting display at the county museum. I'm going to put a couple of the group shots in the newspaper to see if anyone can help me identify the rest of the boys. I've ordered a lot of stickers with scouting/camping themes from from acherryontop.com for use with my GS album and the cub pack album as well. Good luck.

Sandy, I never thought of a scrapbook possibly being archived in a museum down the road. What an awesome thought! Wouldn't that be cool plus!

I checked with acherryontop.com for Scout paper and they have some things my local stores don't carry. I have one more scrapbook store to visit, plus the Dollar Tree down the road. I'll then know what else I need. I'm going to have fun with this. LOL

I have a folding table set up in the kitchen, and I'll be taking over the kitchen table as well. I'll be doing two albums, one for the Troop and one for my dh. My dh is so cool, and doesn't mind eating at the kitchen counter or in the living room while I work on this. Should be fun!

Hi Janie, welcome to the group. Gotta love those cool husbands who don't mind eating on a tv tray! Mine has been doing it for a couple of years now!
