FYI: Organizing Idea

Last night I had a really cool dream. As I love doing theme pages I always wind up with extra photos of family members that don't exactly go with my theme so they wind up in a box.



So last night when I was dreaming (probably up new layouts) I saw me opening up a file box and pulling out a folder marked "grandma ross" and there were tons of photos of just her. I saw myself using the pictures in different layouts.



I just thought you guys might like to "read" this. So the box of miscellaneous pictures and a file folder album are coming to work tonight so while I'm on break I can start organizing the left over pixs.

Sounds like you dream the same way I do! The other night & built a new addition onto my house! (It was gorgeous BTW:>)

Maybe I do too much work, but when I scrapbook for example a 2 pg family christmas LO for the Christmas album or one for the vacation album I also do a single page for each of the children for their albums. I then divide the extra "good' pictures into the acid-free plain pocket albums "with name, date, location" on the back of each pic. I have one album for each of them. As a person who has collected old family pictures for years and am part of a

9 member sibling group I know how hard it is to get many pictures passed down through the generations. I was lucky enough to be the recipient of my grandmother's photo album on my mothers side. I am still trying to trace my grandparent's pictures on my father's side. I want my children to have some pictures to pass onto their descendants. One album will not go far - I have five children and five grandchildren (so far). Just an idea. Sandy

what a neat idea kate and sandy. I've been trying to organize my pictures, but mine are just in baggies. But its a start. I've just started taking pictures on digital. But when I was using 35 mm I was always getting doubles so that if I needed to or wanted to give some away to family and friends I could. Now as I've been scrapbooking I find that I have that left over set of pictures. I guess since I have two boys, one will get a set. But the bad things is that I have only one album with the pictures.

Sandy that is a good idea! I had not thought of that. I just keep thinking that someday I will do an album for each of my boys. But while I have everything out why not just do 2 single LO's as well! Thank you!
