Geneva Barn here I come

I'm all signed up and paid. I fear I put the wrong date in, because I don't have a 2006 calendar handy, but I referenced the one online. I want to stay Thursday through Monday, so I can spend as much time as I can with my Scrapping buddies. Make it worth my while packing up and flying across the United States. When I told hubby I was going to do it his first question, "Is OKC Dave going to be there?" hahaha he's not a jealous guy, so it surprised me and made me laugh. Boy, Dave bet you didn't think being in a scrapbooking group would have so much intrigue. I know you have to work that weekend, but when I picture you joining us I see you with a pair of crazy scissors matting away. I guess he thinks you'll be there all oiled up and in a G-string. :D

OMG!!!!!!!!!!! The oiled up and in a G-string made me laugh! I know you will have a wonderful time Lynne. I wish I could go but currently there is no way I can swing it. Though if a way becomes available I will be there, if there's room! I would love to meet everyone.

You know it sounds steep to begin with, but I figured if I save and or earned $100 a month I could totally afford it. I just made my first $100 at a yard sale this weekend. Now I'm going to start getting stuff up on ebay like I've been saying for years and it all sits on my bar collecting dust. I sure hope you can find a way to come. Would love to meet you!

I read the last sentence and I about peed my pants laughing. When we lived in Jersey, Pete was very unsure about us going to meet Dave. Then Pete got called in to work and was super adamant about me not going alone to meet a "transient truckdriving male who scrapbooks and meets females around the country" Needless to say, my super cautious cop DH won that argument, that time around. He did let me go to LR this summer and knew Dave would be there and didn't have a problem with it. He has since gotten over being cautious about my internet guy friend. Although my Dad had once read the newsgroup (probably to understand my affliction here better) and my Dad asked "Who is this Dave and why does everyone want to meet him?" Yep--Dave sure gets some attention! He is a genuinely nice guy.

Jacqui who saw she has a ton of posts to get through to catch up and who has a ton of homework....hmmm...I really better be a good girl and do my homework as I am paying for it.

Alright Lynne! I read your last sentence and had to force myself to laugh quietly so I wouldn't wake anyone up. Dave in a g-string....ROFL Dave sure gets attention arouond here, doesn't he? Thankfully DH has never been jealous or cautious of me meeting anyone from RCS. Probably due to the fact that we met over the internet. I guess he figures I couldn't run into anyone that's crazier than me! LOL

Wow Lynne, now that's what I call getting two flies with one swat! (hope you guys have the same expression in the States!) Clearing up the clutter and at the same time saving up for a wonderful trip! Good thinking. Wish I could join ya all!

ROTFL! "oiled up and in a G-string" Poor Dave! We have made him a male stripper for sure! LOL Dave is probably blushing so furiously about now! He truly is such a nice guy that we feel this comfortable in teasing him!

The fortunately I can swing the cost. It's the time off. I'd have to take off 2 personal leave days or a week vacation and 1 personal leave day. It falls wrong for me to be able to do it right now, and I use personal leave days for unexpected things that come up. But, who knows things may change between now and then. I'm keeping my ears open to see if I can figure out a way to work it. I'd love to meet everyone! Though I think I'd have to stay in a hotel as I use a CPAP machine and I'm not sure anyone would want to have to listen to the machine all night! LOL But I'd sleep great!

Glad to hear you are going to be able to make it Lynne! I personally can hardly wait to meet everyone in person. I had to LOL at what you said about Dave being oiled up and in a Gstring!!! (DH was looking at me funny when I read that! I have not met Dave yet, I have only seen his picture. Oh my, what is he gonna say when he reads all this? Will he be embarrassed? LOL

I really struggle with the same issue... asking my husband to take time off to take the kids to school while I was gone. Plus it's the big carnival weekend that I've volunteered to run the Silent Auction that weekend. I have someone taking it over and the more I thought about it the more I thought being out of town (HA! out of state) would be a good clean break from the Silent Auction chaos and them relying on me to do everything. Sure hope you can swing some time to come, but I totally understand your reasons why you can't.

Kenda, I am trying to figure out a way to make it too. I would room with you. My husband sleeps with a CPAC machine. He has for about 2 years now. I don't think I could sleep without the sound of the machine.

Lol, so we can put Ronnie and Kenda and you Pam in the same room... I'd have to be at the other end of the place in the quietest spot possible. Unfortunately I'm the lightest sleeper and everything pretty much wakes me up. DH complains that we always end up miles from the elevators when we stay in a hotel.

I'm a light sleeper too. When the kids were little I could hear their foot prints in the carpet as they crept into my room in the middle of the night.

Oh not me. Most of the time, the alarm doesn't even wake me up. LOL When I was a kid, I even slept through Mom & Dad's purposefully setting off the fire alarm right outside my sister & I's bedroom. Now if DH is gone for the night, it's totally different. Then I hear every little wimper or whine either of the kids' makes and I'm awake before the alarm ever goes off. LOL

Hey April! I've been told by my family that I snore too, but I don't believe it because I don't ever hear it because I am a heavy sleeper too! LOL LOL
