Going to my first crop!

I was just in the LSS (they emailed me about a new shipment of Bazzill, yeah!) and signed up for my very first crop. It's May 20th, so I have time to plan what to pack. Maybe this will help me get my tote organized at last.

(I have an old laptop bag I plan to use. It rolls and my new laptop is too big for it. I think it will work well.)

I'm a little nervous though, since I'm a bit shy in crowds.

Rach, believe it or not I'm very shy in crowds! Just go early and sit and talk to the person next to you about the layout she is doing and next thing you know, you'll be having fun sharing!

Rach, you'll have a great time. The advice M-C gave is perfect. I'm sure you'll do like Barb and pack and repack your bag a number of times before the crop! (ducking that sandle Barb lobed)

Have fun. Before Jessica was born I used to go to my lss crop every other Friday night. It was so fun and I got so much done

I was nervous the first time also, but there really is absolultely nothing to be nervous about. There really are very few pretentious scrappers out there. They exist, but there's only a few.

  • Do you have some type of rolling cart like the Crop in Style ones? If not, and you are getting serious about the hobby, you should really consider it as your next major purchase.
  • Also, I try not to bring *too* much stuff because at my store they run an open tab for you all night and I like to buy my papers, embellishments, etc as I work.
  • to make the most of your time, you really should do some planning ahead of time. I always sort through my pictures and bring enough photos for 5-6 two page layouts. I never get that much done, but it's nice to have enough just in case. Next I usually do a quick plan of the page I want to do. I pick one of Becky Higgins' sketches or design my own and put a post-it on it so when I am browsing the store it makes it easy to pick out supplies for that layout.
*hopefully your lss supplies drinks and pizza, but if not, you might want to bring some "clean" munchies like M&M's or Hershey's kisses. Your tablemates will appreciate it for you.

Have fun.

Oh you'll have so much fun Rach! MC gave you great advice. Sometimes I have a hard time talking to strangers, but I'm finding myself doing it more and being more at ease. I think I brought the whole craft area with me when I went to my first crop at an LSS! LOL I definately suggest trying to put together your photos with what paper/cardstock you'll be using. Makes it so much easier!

Enjoy Rach. Remember, you will be around like-minded folks, so no reason to be shy! :)

Actually, I had thought of that. I thought it might make it easier to make some new friends. Its always better if you have something in mind to begin with.
