Help removing Photos

I decided to begin working on my Aunt-In-Laws page for her sibling reunion. The pictures she gave me are in one of those horrible album pages that the pictures stick to and tear when they are removed.

I have read somewhere how to remove them but I can't find it anywhere. Do you use dental floss to try to remove them? It looks like some of the photos (keep in mind these are photos from the late 50's early 60's) have become "one" with the album page. I will need to scan them and repair them I know that, just not sure how to remove them.

If nothing else I can always scan them then just seperate them using a photo editing software, I have one that I really like. Any help would sure be appreciated! TIA

Kenda...I used various methods - including dental floss - to remove mine from the old albums. I found the method that worked with the least damage to the photos was to sit the pages on a radiator or warm surface. This made the thin adhesive lines become tacky again and once I got a corner up I just used the back of a thin kitchen knife to help detach them. Any stickyness left I removed using a cotton wool ball dabbed on the top of my Stazon Cleaner, then I quickly wiped them off with a damp microfiber cloth. You could probably use Undo for this last step but I didn't have any.

I found that peeling then off caused the photo surface to crack and the dental floss separated the paper layer when it met a stubborn section. On one it even broke through to the surface....arrrgghh! I managed to repair it though in a graphics package though! pheww!

I have read that you can use Undo to remove photos from these types of albums...

Good luck!

That does help Marilyn, thanks so much. Perhaps I'll just scan them and repair the ones that someone tried to remove and it tore......

I thought about undo but I'm afraid to try it with someone else's pictures. Thank you for the input!

I used Undo and it works wonderfully. It also works for re doing pages. Good luck, Michelle P.
