My new toy!

DH gave me my anniversary present way early. (It's not until May 24th.) Of course, that might have something to do with the fact that is arrived today via DHL while I was at home. I was a good girl, though. I told him he had a box here and when he said it was my anniv. present and to keep my hands off, I did. But he let me open it when he got home.

OMG!!! It's a HP 12" printer!!! WEEEEEEE!!!! I'm going to have sooooo much fun with this! Kenda knew about it, but wouldn't fess up or give me any hints. Oh, except that she knew someone who would take it off my hands if I didn't want it. LOL And MC knew about it, too. They're conspiring, all of them. :-) Thank you MC for telling him what to find. :-)

It's all setup on top of my desk, up next to the regular printer/scanner. Just waiting to be used! Hehehe Guess what I'll be doign tomorrow!

For right now, I'm going to play with 12x12 cardstock and see what I come up with. I haven't looked at where to buy 12 x 12 printer paper for it, yet.

It's the HP Deskjet 9800. There's an addon I can get that will allow me to put a roll of paper on the back and print on it. "Oh the possibilities" is right! I'm free today if you want to come down and we'll play. Just leave the daycare kids by themselves. They'll be fine. LOL Anytime you're coming to Little Rock, you just let me know!

I assumed she would use 12x12 cardstock?

I would love one, but I don't use enough tech on my pages to justify it. I think I would probably do more computer journaling if I had one though. Chicken...egg? LOL.

Enjoy your new toy, Deb!

For right now, it's 12 x 12 cardstock, which I may just stick with unless I just need plain paper for some reason. I was checking out products on HP, and there's photo printer up to 13x19 for my new toy. THat's one BIG photo! LOL

I'm having a severe shallow learning curve with my new toy. LOL I forgot I had Scrapbook Factory 2.0 on my computer so I opened it up and played with it, a .jpg Autobot logo from the new Transformers movie, and text to come up with a page for DH's BotCon trips. I finally got something I liked, we're talking a VERY shallow learning curve with me yesterday! LOL I thought I had the print settings right, but the first time it printed like it would if it was a poster and printing on 4 seperate pages. I'm glad it was plain white cardstock! LOL I put the cardstock back in, because it was the one and only sheet of 12 x 12 white cardstock I had, except I put it non-printed side up so that it printed on the already printed side again. Oops. Back in it goes, printed side up, and it printed on the non-printed side. Yay! Except it was more like 8 x 8, not the full 12 x 12.

I finally found some of the plain white sheets that come in page protectors. Aha! DH was able to successfully enlarge a box pattern on one of those, and hopefully he'll be able to show me how he did it. THat's one of the things I would love to be able to do with this new toy! I love making boxes, any shape, any size. LOL I have all kinds of box patterns, but some of them need to be enlarged 133%. Hard to do that on an 8 1/2" printer! LOL

Very Cool! My hubby got me a widescale printer for my anniversary this year too. My anniversary was the 25th, but I've had it for a month or so. I love it. More possibilities than I can imagine.

Anytime you want to come play, you just let me know. I will gladly share! Someone needs to invent a shrinker/unshrinker thing so I can shrink it and bring it on the cruise. That or we just need a teleporter. LOL

Isn't it too cool?? I'm still playing some, but the possibilities are endless with this thing.
