OT: A Small Favor to ask

As most of you know my father has cancer (Lymphoma). The American Cancer Society has been more then wonderful to my father and family! They are great people! My dad would like to give back to the Cancer foundation by collecting bottle cap tabs. They are the metal tabs that you can pull off from cans. I am asking that the next time you have a can of soda to pull the tab off and send it me for my dad. The tabs will be mailed to the Foundation and in return they turn the tabs into money for research, awareneess and other great things for cancer patients. Whether you can send 1 or 100 tabs (they all be appreciated). The great thing is my sister talked to her school today and they may even be hopping on board with us to collect these tabs. If your interested please email me at mickey8888 AT verizon DOT com with the subject TABS. Appreicate all of the prayers and support everyone has given my dad and family. It means so much!!

Shaz,

I don't know much about customs. But if you really would like to send them to me I can talk to a friend that works at the Post Office to see if she knows anything about customs. And see how we can work this out. If its to much trouble for you I wouldn't worry about then or if it cost to much. Let me see what I can find out.

I'm off to a Tulip Festival to get some great pictures.

Hi, Chrissy.

This is a great way to give back. I am so happy that your sister's school is on board with collecting the tabs! I am sure you will get many tabs for your efforts. My mom and I collect tabs for the Ronald McDonald house. My family has used the Ronald McDonald resources in the past when my nephews have been really sick. I spoke with most of my coworkers and they pasted the info onto their friends and clubs they are involved in. I have been given milk jugs full of tabs. I am sure you will find the same response.

Good luck with your tab drive!!!

Hugs,

What does the ACS do with the tabs? I've heard of people collecting them for various charities, but I never have figured out how they help.

Did you mean "unremarkable" Chrissy? It sounds like we've all let you down.
