OT: First try at ATC

Hi everyone,

I have been having a break from scrapbooking and having a play instead.... hahahahaha I have upload a scan of my first attempt at ATC's to the Artist Trading Card album in my webshots. Not sure if I have done them right but from what I read there is no right or wrong way LOL I just put them all on the scanner bed and placed a sheet of paper on top with the numbering...so there is only one image with the six cards. Won't tell how many 'duff 'cards are lying on my table....LOLOLOLOL

Oh gosh! Those look GREAT!

Now I'm embarrassed....maybe I should start over... One of those mags I bought has a section on ATCs, but most of theirs aren't very flat.

Thanks Rach...I am sure you have done a great job on yours. I am not part of the swap...only playing :o) I had a couple of magazines that had ATC features in them so I just had a look at them. Judging by the majority I saw anything goes!!!

Very sure...LOL I didn't think there was anything too difficult about them Deb! Now if you are suggesting I get into the real collage type ATC's you won't see me for dust ROFL....I can't achieve it because don't really like it much! Hope I haven't offended anyone who loves collage...if I have.....sorry!!!!!!!

They are gorgeous Marilyn!! Well done!! Did you draw them free-hand? Either way, you should be proud of them :o)

Thanks Jessica.....they are really simple and I am sure you have done a good job on your ATC :o) This sort of thing is different things to different people and it would be a funny world if we all liked and did exactly the same thing!

I had to laugh at your question about technique LOL I had none!!!!!! White card for the base, patterned paper for the fronts and plain paper for the back....which I ran through the Xyron. Stamps are from the non-Sequitur UM range and Rubber Stampede Victorian Butterflies collection.....and were applied in a random fashion LOL I used a sepia dye-based inkpad for stamping and distressing the edges. Butterfly wings are coloured using LuminArte and a water-brush, words are hand-written and so are the details on the back. I didn't have a stamp like the ones on the link that came through the other day. That's about it really....I am surprised that I actually like them enough to be looking at my stash with a view to doing more :o) Scraplift away and enjoy!!!

Thanks Alicia...I use PaintShop Pro for LO's but I have downloaded The Gimp to have a look at. Seems to get good reviews and it is FREE LOL

I haven't done any digital LO's but I use the Gimp for all my digital manpulation of pics before I print them. My DH uses it alot to and is the one who introduced me to it. He says he isn't interested in scrapping then talks of maybe doing a digital LO. I think I may be getting him hooked on this hobby. have fun trying it out Marilyn, let us know what you think.

I love the way you can use scraps to do these! I hate wasting expensive and pretty paper and these are the PERFECT solution!

Those are great Marilyn! I'd never guess it was your first try. Maybe you can do the next swap. I'm having fun and will most likely host another in awhile. Myself, I haven't used a single stamp yet on my cards. All paper.
