OT: Home and More ---

Well I am seeing first of all if stupid pc will let me 'play' on it tonite -- GRRR!! (I know, as well as others in here, dont' even go there LOL!) I started to write this post last night and answer couple others and thing kicked me completely off line and locked up. I am waiting for a new one that I ordered, maybe one that works!

NEXT of all, I want to wish or hope that ALL in here had a great holiday season. I know I did and it was only added to by the great reactions from everyone that was rewarded by me and my helper :) I was brought to tears more than once from the anticipation and appreciation!! It is my bringings up and belief, the Lord provides and whatever may be left I share with others!

I had a pretty good trip out to the beautiful NW, but due to whatever reasons did not get to see Jessica and Melissa. RATS!! Not that that has not happened with others in here but sooner or later things work and when I do get to meet up with the great people in here, we share, talk and traesure the meeting!

Going out the weather was AWFUL! I started to drive in or on snow soon after leaving April's in the Texas panhandle, all the way to about 150 miles from Portland, Oregon where it changed to rain - imagine that LOL!

Wyoming was dastardly but because of the MANY guardian Angels I have and my one navigator and Saviour, I was kept safe. The winds were bad, blowing a steady 30 to 40 with 65 plus gusts, driving almost head first into them. Oh, and I can not forget how COLD it was, 12 to 15 degrees!Yea, that really makes fuel mileage CHANGE for the worse LOL! (not that semi's get much anyhow - about 5 mpg!) There was one gust that caught me dead in the side that I felt the truck teeter and cause me temporary unsettlement. If I would have been on ice at that point, well things could have been worse I am sure as I saw many who were not lucky.

Coming back, for only the second time ever I came back thru Montana. The first time was in the summer in 2000 I think. It was absolutely gorgeous and even the trip in the winter, WOW! That whole state along the interstate is truly beautiful! It has to be my favorite drive now next to Tennessee, Kentucky and upstate New York. Absolutely spectaucular, the views of the mountains, the never ending river(s) and the sky. It is a drive that I would recommend to anyone, not to mention that you would need to go to Yellowstone and Teton and Glacier National parks. I have to do that now sometime in the near future LOL!

Then I got into far NE Wyoming. It was not too long after dark. I feared black ice as it was cold and when the sun goes down it does not take long for any residual water on road to freeze. However it was not water but snow pack that had not been scraped off the road totatlly. Coming down a hill and around a curve, well I more than stressed out. I felt everything going in different directions and away I went ending up jack knifed across the road on this slight uphill. I did not hit anything thanks to a snow bank and no damage was done to anything, except my nerves, and I am sure blood pressure, LOL!

I got straightened out after getting out and cooling down, (yes took a couple pictures) but trying to get started going uphill was the trick. At this point I was in the very middle of the raod and the few cars, err 4x4's that came took to the median to keep going. Heck it was not slippery in there anyway!

I hollered out on cb to others behind and awhile later down the road when I decided I had enough excitement for the day, I heard there was a couple bad accidents that closed down the road. So again I know I was being looked after!

THEN I GOT HOME!! Ugh! As you know we had that bad ice storm the middle week of Dec. Trees still had large limbs that broke off stuck up in them. Many of us here in the park kept asking the manager when they were going to be gotten down to prevent anything else from happening. His response as usaul being he is sorry, "when we can and when the weather is better" AAAARRRGGGGHHH!!!

Well the large limb that reclined on my roof preventing a lot of damage from other falling limbs, well I did not suspect anything. Seems all of the weight was not good, not to mention some high winds while I was gone brought down the one limb that was worrying me. Yep, you guessed it. So anyhow it was sure a big downer to me. Saturday I had a roof sealer company out. It was much more than I and they too, expected and found out I did not have as much 'rat holed' as I thought. So it is a big dent in my high hoped pay check and budget now for few months.

Then on top of that, due to the ole man worrying plumb to death with few shows on books for the year, well yesterday was the last day of work of anything for me to do for at least couple weeks. Then I will be more or less as needed to help. Gulp! SO I am looking at going to a temp service to find some part time something to do.

So that is it in a nut shell (HA HA!) and know that because of my faith and the great 'family' I have not only here but wherever, I will be ok. We all have these spells and things sooner or later turn around! It is the law of averages and being a believer, tests of our faith.

So with that I guess that i will close this BOOK and see ya'll in the funny papers LOLOL!!

(some more than others!)

((HUGS!!))

Dave,

First off, welcome home, to your physical place and HERE! :-) Secondly, I think what with the writer's strike and all, you should sell your story to Hollywood and make some money off it when they turn it into a weekly series or reality show!! Man! I was on the edge of my seat some places! What an exciting life you lead! ;-)

Glad to see you back, Carolyne > Well I am seeing first of all if stupid pc will let me 'play' on it

Hello Dave,

We're glad that you are a great driver and have angels on your shoulder. God knows you are precious here on earth and thats why he has so many people keeping you safe.

I talked to my mother and father who live Upstate NY near Watkins Glen/ corning area and if you ever need a place to lay your head, let me know and I'll tell them to make up a bed for you. There's plenty of

18 wheeler parking as they live near the NASCAR race track. I also bet that my mother will let you see her craft room.

Be safe as usual out there.

Kate
