Well.... I have a very terrible bad case of pink in both eyes. I wouldn't wish this on my enemies. I've had it since Saturday evening. I went to the doctor today. I wish I would have yesterday. I called to get in with my regular doctor. She told me that she don't usually prescribe medicine for pink eye. That its a virus. So I waited. Last night my DH went to the store for me. We so desperately needed food for the boys. He got me some over the counter eye drops for pink eye. This morning when I woke up it was worse. Not only was my eyelids swollen but below my eyes was swollen. So I went to the walk in. I didn't even mess with going to my regular doctor. I got some prescription eye drops and an oral antibiotic. Right now my eyes itch and it feels like I have fuzz balls under my eyelids. Pray for me that it feels better in the morning. I'm actually ready to get out of this house and back to work. I had just gotten back to work last Thursday after having almost 2 weeks off to stay home with the kids for Christmas break.

Oh you poor honey. I'm so surprised your doctor didn't prescribe drops for your eyes. Though the drops burn like hell... well the ones I got 10 years ago did... when they went in it felt so good like a big ole back scratch, but for your eyes. Hope they start feeling better really soon and praying that no one else in the house gets it!

Lynne

Sending prayers and well-wishes your way that you recover soon. That sounds really awful. Hope you get some relief soon. luv Cec...xxx

Hope things improve soon Shannon......sore eyes are terrible!

Ouch!!! I can't believe your doctor didn't prescribe drops for you right away. I have to exclude a child from childcare until they have been using eyedrops for 24 hours because it is so contageous. Two years ago I had a mom (a nurse) who brought her daughter in with eye drainage. She insisted it was not pinkeye, that her cold had settled in her eye. Needless to say almost every child (including both of mine) got pink eye. They were so miserable. I do feel for you. Hope it gets better soon. Sandy

Can I ask......What the devil is Pink Eye? Is it the same as Conjuctivitis.....as we call it in the UK? Doh...just Googled and see that it is the same thing :o)

*hugs

Hope you feel better soon. I've had it but only in one eye and i is MISERABLE!

I'm so sorry you're feeling yucky Shannon. Hopefully the eye drops and antibiotics will take care of it all in a jiffy. That's strange that they would tell you they don't prescribe anything for pink eye. DD was about 2 when she came down with pink eye and an upper respiratory infection. They gave her an antibiotic that would treat both. But I'm glad you have something now. Get to feeling better!

I've never had pink eye but here it;s not fun.. You'll be in my prayers! Barb:o)

Soryy to hear you eyes are sore Shannon, worst part is no scrapping until they are better lol - will be thinking about you.

Andrea

Oh Shannon ! Pink eye is such a miserable infection. It is also very contageous. I feel your pain!

Hugs, Sabrina

Shannon I hope the drops and the antibiotics have you feeling better real soon. Pink eye is no fun. Take care.

Oh Shannon, I am so sorry you have pink eye. Shame on your regular doctor!! I hope you are beginning to feel better. Be sure you take care of yourself. Prayers you feel better and clear up soon.

Thanks everyone for your concerns. I think I might actually be on the down swing of this crap now. I went back to the walk-in last night and they gave me some different eye drops. My eyes aren't better yet but I can tell a difference. My biggest problem is that my eyes water a little. Now the outside of my eyes are chapped from me trying to dap them with tissues. Also, now I feel like I'm getting a cold. Sometimes I feel so old that I'm falling apart and I'm only 32.

Shannon, I hope you are feeling better by now! Tell DH you need some TLC! Get well soon :)

Hey Shannon- I hope you are feeling better by now...have you had any other symptoms? The reason I ask is that a girl at our cheer gym came down with Adenovirus, which attacks the eyes, pharynx, stomach, ears...basically everything, and can cause a pretty nasty case of conjunctivitis. The doctor that confirmed it said he had seen quite a lot of it this year. Anyway, hope you are better now!!

Arleen

Ahh hang in there. I'd say have hubby wait on you, but you don't want him catching it or your peaceful recuperating days will be over. :) My daughter and husband got it about 10 years ago. My son and I had it about 12 years ago. Guess who was the biggest baby? haha

Hope you start feeling like the young chick you are really soon!

Lynne

Shannon I hope you are feeling, and seeing better!! I can not imagine that discomfort as I know how mine itch, burn and run when the ole hay fever gets in full gear i spring and fall!!
