Xmas themed stitching, anyone?

I was able to work on Santa's Magic today (first Xsting since the fire, and damn it felt good!). And was wondering if others are working on Xmas themed projects, just to be in the Xmas mood?

Granted, my Santa is mostly his cuff and some of the beads trailing to the left of it, but it is Santa nonetheless, and it's helping me remember that in spite of everything else, it is Xmas time!

I stitched about several Christmas-themed things this year -- five teacher gifts for my grandchildren which look like Christmas balls with "2005" on them and were framed in cute Christmas mats from Hobby Lobby; two really cute tiny Santas (one from the Just Cross Stitch ornaments issue, and one from one of the Brit magazines); also a wintery tree with tiny brass star charms called "Tis the Season" and another pretty tree that looks rather like a feather tree that says "Bless Us Each and Every One" which I'll pick up at the framer's Friday; and last of all a gift for dh's boss, the Shepherd's Bush "Star" which comes with several buttons to add and looks so nice.

No stitching today. I did indeed have cataract surgery this morning. Other than a bit of a headache when I got home, which tylenol took care of, with -- I'm fine (after a 3 hour nap), but with a clear eye shield over my eye which distorts the way everything looks (of course the fact that my eye is still very dilated is probably also part of the distortion). Thank heavens for versed!

Thanks, Gillian, for the reassurance yesterday. I hope you're still getting along well.

Glad to hear all went well, Jere! I don't know which would be more annoying, a clear shield, or a gauze pad. I am going along well, the ophthalmologist told me it looked "Very good" this morning. Now it is a matter of remembering to put the drops in four times daily, and NOT rubbing my eyes, which is one of my habits! Other than the break to check email, I am sitting and stitching this afternoon. I started with my little project on 25ct Lugana,( a Heritage kit) and am pleased to see that I COULD do it without any magnification. Both eyes are focussing on the work. Most encouraging!! However, the dazor just makes it that easier to stitch.

Glad to hear you`re both doing OK. John had both gauze pad AND clear shield off the following day, but was supposed to have the plastic one on at night (not that he did after the first night) and could see beautifully immediately. His eye wasn`t even red. It`s a wonderful procedure. Can`t wait for mine as my vision`s getting worse all the time. It`s very hard not to rub your eye without thinking though, isn`t it? You`ll be glad when you can finish the drops - i know John was.
