Well, DS and DIL are @ Ft. Bragg and have an apartment. Hopefully their stuff here will be packed soon and moved. Not that I don't love them, but Mom really needs her space back! Why?

DS reported to his unit today and he will be deploying to Bagdad, Iraq the end of June. I can feel the lump coming up into my throat. I know this is what he wants to do but he's my son. I know the Iraqi people need our help, but he's my son. I want him to do what makes him happy but, he's my son. I guess it's just a Mom worrying about her child. (Even if he is a man) It will be a 15 month deployment they are scheduled to return Sept. 2009. I don't know if his wife will stay there or return here. I personally think she should stay there as that's were her support system from the Army will be, but that's not my call.

Off to fill out the paperwork for a passport, if he gets hurt I want to be able to get to him ASAP.

I'm glad to hear they are getting settled in. As a mother, I can completely understand what you are going through. I know mine are only 11 and 7, but still they are my babies. I'm not ready for them to grow up and go on their own. It's killing me the 5th grader has had girlfriends already.

I'm glad to hear that they found an apartment. I can understand how you feel about him being deployed. Remember we are all here to help you thought it and to say lots of prayers for both of you.

Glad to hear that they have gotten an apartment. I can understand your worries about his deployment. Will keep you and your family in my thoughts.

Kenda, I was so happy to hear they found an apartment. It seems like just yesterday when Pete and I got married and moved to our first little place. My heart sank when I heard he will be deploying to Baghdad. I will say prayers for him and his safety. Hopefully he will not be there the entire

15 months. D DIL may want to be back near family for the family support (maybe not necessarily in your house of course). The Army support is not always what it is supposed to be. I was lucky when Pete was deployed. I can tell you that there have been other installations where I wouldn't get a phone call. We are having a problem at this installation with the counseling services in town being overbooked and cannot handle all the families. The families are stressed out and they have few places to turn to. This of course is the third deployment for many families on this installation. For some it is the fourth. I will keep your DS and DIL in my prayers. Jacqui

Prayers going up for a hedge of protection around your son while he is deployed, and for his wife while she is on her own at that time, and for you and the rest of the family in dealing with fear, worry, etc while he is gone.

LOL I remember having "boyfriends" in the 2nd grade.

Thank you Chrissy. Now, to get their stuff to them!

Thankyou Jacqui. I am fairly sure she will return here. DH mentioned her moving back in with us. I said no, she can get a little place close. She needs to be on her own so she can be independant and come & go as she pleases. I know she will want to be close to family and friends. It might be different if they had children. Thanks for the insite Jacqui.

Thank you Carolyne. I know she will be fine, she just has to have to confidence in herself. I am worried about DS. But I am sure he will be okay too.
