Tyler update as of 5 am Tuesday

Got a call at 5 am. From my boy. It seems the abscess has filled up again, so they are sending him back to Germany to get a drain put in and iv antibiotics. Ty refused to be the one to tell me and made the doctor talk to me. He told them that they had told me he was coming back to the US and he had to call and tell me he was going back to Afghanistan, so this time the doctor could do the dirty work. Spunky kid. So, the rollercoaster ride continues.

PS--He also said the battalion commander called him yesterday and asked if his mom is still mad. Made me giggle.

So glad he is getting the medical attention he needs, Connie. Maybe this time they won't rush it.

My husband heard from his son today too. He is a Marine in Iraq. He's there since July 17th. He doesn't say too much about what he is doing. I don't think he wants to upset his dad. Smart kid at 19! He did say he was able to have his first shower in 3 weeks! He is supposed to be there for 7 months but we don't really know if that's the case or not.

Let's hope all of our loved ones over there stay safe!

Connie - so relieved for you and Tyler. Sanity has prevailed (sigh)

When I was in uniform I was always scared of hearing from the angry wives of my troops, but angry mothers just terrified me!!!!! :-))

Connie, Your son must be exhausted. I hope this time they keep him in the hospital until he is 100%. Good thoughts to him, you and your family.

Yup, mom is still mad, and so is the whole quilting world! You tell him he has a coupla thousand internationally based wimmin (and blokes) on his side, all armed with needles and ready to stitch up the US army medics if they balls it up again!

Tell him good luck with the healing, and we are all hoping he can come home and heal properly, ready to resume his military career when he's fit and ready.

I'm also glad to hear that Tyler's is getting what he needs.

Alice, tell your husband's son "thank you". Smart and brave and wise and a freedom fighter. What honor!
