OT: Taking a break from packing

Ok so a lot has been happening :) We are hopefully moving. We went looking at houses a couple of weekends ago and found one that we liked and put in an offer and she counteroffered. Eric went last week and talked with a mortage broker and we are waiting now to hear from the banks. We joined this program for first time home buyers where we only have to give them $500 at closing and they will pay the closing costs. Of course you have to pay for the appraisel (sp) and the home inspection etc. They are doing the home inspection tomorrow. If the banks say yes then our tentative move in date is January 17th, but it could be sooner if everything works out. So we've been doing a lot of getting rid of stuff and packing. I started packing my scrapbook area today. OH MY LOL!!! I'm still not done. It's amazing how much stuff can fit in a tiny space LOL We are only about 5 or so minutes from the house we are renting. Abby will finish out Kindergarten at her current school and because of where our new house is she will have to go to a different school next year. The house is a 2 bedroom 2 bath, so I still don't have a scrapbook room of my own and the girls don't have their own room, but it's a great starter house. The rooms are really BIG!!! The nice thing is that the garage is carpeted so my scrapbook area, our computers, toy area, storage will be in the garage. We are hoping to put in a window air conditioning thing in there. We will probably enventually close off the garage doors. Ok I think that's enough rambling. Just taking a break to say hi and to let everyone know that hopefully everything goes through and we have a new house :) Our realtor and mortage broker don't see a problem with us getting the house.

Oh and we do have our Christmas tree up so we will have a Christmas :)

How exciting Tabitha. It sounds like it is the perfect house for you. Enjoy your new home.

What a great way to start off the new year....in a new home. Sounds like the garage is going to make a great "family" room. Good luck with the move. Isn't it something....no matter if it's 5 miles or 500, you still have to pack everything up to move it. Sandy

CONGRATULATIONS

what program did you go through?

Kate

Thank you Cathy! Just had the inspection yesterday and we are just waiting on the banks now. Either the end of this week or next week we will hear something.

Thank you Sandy! Just found out that the garage is insulated so that's a plus :) Yeppers! So much work.

Thank you Kate! The name of it is Community Housing Trust. It's for Sarasota county here in Florida. We heard that it's hard to be apart of the program cause there is a lot of criteria that you have to meet. We luckily meet all of that. Since I don't work at the moment we were under what you have to make :)

WOO HOO! That is great news Tabby!! A starter home is better than nothing especially if there is opportunity to enhance it yourself for later resale.

((HUGS!!))

Thank you Dave!!! It's very exciting!!
