We had quite an interesting Saturday night. DD pointed out a growling sound in our den Saturday night, and it wasn't the furchild Digit. It was coming from under the raised brickwork in front of the fireplace. (I know there's no flooring of anykind under the bricks because Digit got under there when he was a kitten.) Needless to say, we shooed DD off to her room, it was bedtiem anyways. LOL What does Digit do? He just sits in the middle of the room, looking as if he's not concerned. In fact, at one point in time, he was batheing himself! The cat either has no fear, or he doesn't know any better. LOL We ended up closing Digit up in the laundry room (houses the litter box, anyway) with his food and water. Told DD to wake us up if she woke up before us, and attempted to wake DS up to tell him the same thing. Poor DS, the eyes were open, but there was no one home....LOL

Sunday afternoon, DH walked around the house and found the entrance point. Whatever it was, was apparently sick. (Don't ask how DH knows that....eww.) There was no sounds all day yesterday or last night. DH thinks whatever it was, and we suspect it was an opposum, left the house. I really hope so. I remember when one of my friends had an opposum die under their house...not pleasant. So let's hope whatever animal it was decided we were too crazy to hang around, or got better, and went away!

I remember that friend's house as well! Hope your opposum has left the premises!

Oh my. I hope the poor thing has left for your benefit!! My parents had a similar not so pleasant experience with a dead animal. NOT GOOD.
