Walmart's and Archiever's

My Wal-Mart is putting the finishing touches on its remodeling. It will be a Super Wal-Mart with a grocery by the middle of next month. So the fabric department has gone to tread heaven (Boo-Hoo) and they have moved the craft section 3 times. Today it is in three different places. I kid you not. What should I have expected when I found the toilet paper in the dog food section?

Now there were some bargains. Like a photo frame card with die cuts for $0.75. I bought a couple and looked through my craft drawers and decided I could use the die cuts and deck the frame up and make a real cut card. For those of you into Disney the scrapbooks had real deep discounts. Some of the stickers had red discount price stickers too.

A Big Big surprise was Martha Stewart?s products were at Archiever?s. Hmmmm the run at Michaels was so good they took the products to other stores? I thought Martha and Michael's had an exclusive deal going. Hmmm Makes You Wonder

A REALLY BIG surprise was I found Martha's products at WALMART'S. Will Wonder's never cease?

I am not surprised that Martha is in Archievers as they are part of the same outfit as Michaels. Not sure about why she is in Walmart and I guess the question is are the Martha items the same in all 3 stores?

Our Walmart in Elk City OK is remodeling too. THey also took out thte fabric section. I don't think we are getting a food section though. Everything is not where it used to be and for the regulars going in there all the time had to hunt down what they needed.

I heard on the radio (1010 wins here in NY) that Martha's line is definately going to Walmart come August to expand her demographic. I always thought her stuff was a more expensive version of EK Success to begin with.

I'm not surprised about it. Martha and Wal Mart have a lot in common, they don't just want a slice of the pie, they want it all. IMO

On a different note, I sure didn't know that Archivers and Micheals were affiliated. Hmmm, I love my Archivers but couldn't care less for Micheals.

I heard from friends that work at WM that they're taking the fabrics out of about all the stores. Our new one here in Gardner got a fabric section but it's miniscule, especially compared to how big they typically used to be. I don't think the craft sections are near as big either. I've also been told that they'll never build another new store w/out the grocery section. April, unless there's no space for expansion I would expect that they'll be adding groceries to your store. All of them around here in Johnson county have groceries except a couple. There's no space for them to expand. Personally, I'd prefer those two stores for shopping if I were closer to either one and actually shopped at WM much.

I had heard Marthas items were at Walmart too, and I too was surprised, I don't go to Walmart much, mainly because when I go there for a couple of things, I wind up spending at least $50 on things I didnt intend on buying when I went in there. I liked the smaller Walmart stores, before they became supercenters with groceries. IMO
