Bizarre designer fashions

The ugly wedding dress thread That Will Not Die has got me thinking: there are plenty of really hideous "designer" what-was-she-thinking outfits pictured in various places on the web. (Certainly not in any pattern catalog outside of the costume section, of course.)

Let's have a good laugh at those...please post links to your favorite horror show.

She must have thought she was going to a Middle Eastern costume party and chose a harem costume to go in. Slap my face. That was a nasty thing to say. But it came out before I could stop it. Looking very red in the face, AK in PA

Oh, my. Still, there are so many bad dresses at awards shows. It's probably easier to concentrate on the nice ones. *laugh* I thought Hillary Swank's dress for the 2005 Oscars was great and tremendously flattering! And Halle Berry's dress the for the 2002 Oscars was *so* beautiful.

Now, this is not a link to a famous celebrity, but even more frightening is that it's a dress listed under the header "Homecoming dresses." What kind of Homecoming queen would be in this get-up?! I think the dress should be titled: When Xena is crowned Homecoming Queen....

OMG that is horrible.... lol

Nah, she just mistook it's fluffy yellowness for a tasty lemon-merangue (sp?) pie and couldn't resist taking a bite from it's yummy goodness!

At least the bullseye under her boobies makes it easy to aim when taking pot-shots at her!

(goodness, I am a smart-alec today!)

is pretty scaryactually. You can see the clams have already consumed her bustline andare working on her waist!Erin

That's precisely what I was thinking! That and...."this is NOT a dress to wear to the rifle range."

And could someone please, please explain the black footless tights to me???? I am seeing them everywhere. With denim mini skirts. With white skirts like that. Ok. 1. they look Dorky to begin with. and 2. why black with everything lighter??? huh????? I don't get it. I just really don't.

*sigh*

---who really hoped the wearing leggings under short skirts was one trend from the 80's that would not come back!

LOL!!!! Oh my..... Hey, maybe she is really a ninja and those are fighting fans that she can whip off the dress and attack the bad guys with when they drop down from the ceiling. It's a thought. LOL

Oh yuck. Did that gold trim come off of last year's Christmas tree?

Recently I read that the Emmys broadcast is at a bad time of year for the best designer offerings...can't remember exactly why, though.

grade is this person going into?lee

Yes... what the heck is that? It says, "I'm ready to go trick-or-treating" or "spider vein cover-up"

Talk about the witch's broom look... good grief that is awful!

Oh yeah..... now isn't that accordion-pleat bustier a work of art? I think you're just jealous at not having a dress like that. ;)

I'm still jealous over Carol Burnett's Scarlett O'Hara dress. Now that was truly rive gauche! ;) Burnett said it was the only costume she kept but it was hell getting in a cab. Bob Mackie did the costume. He did a lot of Cher's outrageous costumes too. For the life of me, I cann ot put my hands on a pic of Burnett in that costume.
