I am trying to decide between the Pfaff 2048 and 2056. 2048 is much cheaper and does all that i need. But the 2056 seems to have more features that I can grow into. Any opinions? My dealer quoted me $1500 (his best price) for 2048, the 2056 is currently priced at $2899 but I am sure they will give me a better price if I really wanted to purchase the 2056.
Did anyone buy the 2048 and upgrade to the 2056?
Thanks!

I bought a 2054 three or four years ago, I guess that's an earlier model number. It's truly superb, it feels well made and stitches consistently and uniformly. I realise it's something of a hobby horse of mine but it can stitch very slowly and you feel in complete control when tackling something awkward. I haven't used all the fetures that mine has to offer, but I know they're all there if I feel so moved.
Shop around, use google to see if you can get a better price. I'm in the UK, where the 'retail' price for mine was about £1600, plenty were offering it round about £1350 to £1450, but I found one dealer who was quoting £1200, and who gave me a way over the top trade in for my old model which meant I finally paid from memory £850 for it. Yes, it took me a while to track down the best deal, and yes I had to go and collect it, but with that sort of saving it was well worth the time and effort, and a pleasant day out as well!
