alt.binaries.pictures.woodworking or otherwise commonly referred to as ABPW. Not every Usenet provider handles that group though.

I went to the link and attempted to open a posting and my computer would not allow access?? Said that it had deleted the "dangerous" attachment. I guess that means that some of the postings there have bugs!

Anyone have similar experiences??

Cheers, Tom

It sounds like you are using "Outlook Express" Somewhere in outlooks options there is a setting that you can turn "on - off" depending on weather or not you want to accept attachments.

Hi Joe, You will find that most people here post photos to the Wow group. If you want an invite send me your name and e-mail and I will sign you up.

You're right James, that's just what it was. I don't think that I can afford to second guess it so I'll leave it at that setting.

Thanks, Tom

Try this setting:

in Outlook Express ... Tools | Options | Security uncheck "do not allow attachments to be open or saved which could potentially be a virus"

Because OE apparently can't tell the difference between something which isn't likely to be a virus from something which could possibly be a virus, so it just disables EVERYTHING (at least IMHO).

Uncheck this but use a personal firewall like Zonealarm or other program which scans all your mail before you read it.

Tom- displaying pictures is fine. there are some other file types you do want to watch out for, though. to read about it a bit more, try some of these:
