Supernova2 from Europe

I don't know, but the Sorby rep I spoke to last week said they weren't going to bother importing them for the time being as he didn't see any real advantages over the normal SuperNova.

Wow, that's an opinion that is very hard to understand or find any justification for. I have 7 Supernovas and 2 Supernova 2's (as well as several other chucks). The new version is improved in almost every single area, often dramatically improved. It is stronger, smoother, has a vastly improved handle/actuator arrangement, has a sealed back, adds integral indexing, and has internal jaw limitation. The only area where it does not meet or exceed the original is in that is has less jaw travel. By all means get the newer version if you have the choice.

All I can think of is that Teknatool do a special "Sorby bundle" for them with the 45mm and 50mm jaws included, and that they have a large surplus stock of these that they have to get through first otherwise they'd be stuck with them.
