update: pen turning kit

I anxiously anticipated getting home from work tonight knowing my new pen turning kit was due to arrive today from Craft Supply. Pakage seemed rather small but I figured it's all packed in nice and compact. I opened it up and there it is .... one single pencil kit ... I had ordered it along with the Essential kit which was Back Ordered.



Now why would they not know (and therefore let me know) when the order was placed that they were out of stock ? They were very prompt confirmimng the order by email and asking that I notify them asap if there are any changes needed. But Never did they say anything about the kit being back ordered. Notified me it had shipped complete with a tracking number.



And to add insult to injury the pencil kit was missing parts. (which they will replace)



Not exactly my best first experince with a company. =0 (

Just Say: doing some research ahead of time means I am a customer (though I have not bought anything in a few years) of Packard, and I'm thus far not a customer of CS.

Not that there are not happy CS shoppers out there, but when I was looking several years back, they seemed to have several disturbing complaints and Packard seemed to have very few, if any complaints. The only gripe I'd make about Packard, and it may not be in their direct control, is that you really need the paper catalog, as there are some things they do or did not list on the web site that are in the catalog.

...Just a happy Packard customer.

The customer service at CS-USA is typlically outstanding, and shipements from them (since I'm close-ish) are quick.

Update: After a phone call and a few back and forths by email it has been determined that my kit was back ordered just for the barrel trimmer kit. So they are going to send along what they have and just back order that part of the kit. That satisfies me (although I still wish they had notified me at initially)
