6x6 Nov and DEC 2005 grrrrr

Well although I sent both together a couple of weeks before xmas they've obviously not arrived so will need to send out again(which I don't mind at all)....and to up date my partners - I've not received theirs either....NOT their fault I hasten to add, they've sent to me,and alerted me of their send, I've no reason to think they haven't sent ........ it's our post this way, stuff I sent toNora for xmas hasn't arrived either and this is SO annoying...so now that things have calmed down at the flipping sorting offices maybe they could manage to get my things out and maybe even find the ones en route to me..

My brother only a few miles away from me, recieved his three weeks after I'd sent it, but the post date on it was for march 2006 or something, which means that really he hasn't got it because in this case I haven't sent it yet as it is posted in the future.....according to the date on it...lol what a muddle up they seem to be in.. Oh why did they sell out everything was fine as it was a few years back...

cheers......annoyed Cher

It is funny that when sent air mail which used to be the most effective sending way, on on December 2, before the rush, one would have thought yours would be there by now from me. Oh well, we can both resend and then if the others arrive we will just be further ahead.

Another annoyed one...

Maybe we will each have two sets, Cher...As I will resend mine as well. I know I sent yours on December 2, and Air Mail, which used to be so darned good, even though expensive. However, I have yet to send my December partner hers...nor have I received hers...so I was beginning to wonder if this was winding down. I hope not as I want more, more and more.

Hugs, Susan C

Trying a third time to send this response...

I sent mine to you, Cher, on December 2...Air Mail. I will resend as well.

To my December Partner, I have yet to get yours in the mail. To my January partner. I wait to finish knitting them.

I was starting to worry that perhaps the project was winding down, but perhaps it is only the mail folks who are winding and winding and not knowing where they drop things.

Prior to this, the only time I never received was from Pirjo and she resent and the original ones never came. Now I am waiting for several things and no idea if they will ever arrive. And remember what happened with your send, Els. I was informed they were sending it back to you when I had never gotten word that it was here. My oh my what we must put up with to get mail and then spend that much to get them sent.

Cher, I'm sorry to hear that the squares for the Dec. 6x6 exchange I mailed to you on Dec.7th haven't arrived, and no, yours haven't made it to me either.

But if your postal service is having trouble, let's give them some more time to get the packages to us. I'm willing to wait - "anything worthwhile is worth waiting for" or something like that.

My mom sent Christmas Cards to Poland end of November and to this day they have not arrived. These were just cards, not packages. I wonder what takes so long. All this and they have the nerve to UP the postage rates!

well back early Nov (may have been late Oct) I sent out a birthday parcel to the states... couple of weeks later it came back with a note, saying that they'd put it in a bag as it had gotten ripped, this had only got 20 mins drive away from my house.......don't ask how it got ripped, cos it takes me all my time to undo this stuff I had it in, So I duly inspected the contents re-wrapped it and stuck on the labels and returned it to the Post Office with cert which gave me a free post..they also sent me a cheque to cover any damages, so off it went again and this time arrived ok. So I truly believed that things were looking up and we'd passed all of our difficulties.

Now whilst I can understand a small package of a couple of squares slipping down behind or even through a conveyor belt, I cannot for the life of me work out how they have lost a large box, now I'm gonna change my surname on my return slips because I have an Irish surname as some of you know, although I'm not Irish, but it makes me wonder if things are getting checked either over here or in customs. Especially as alot of our post goes to Ireland to be shipped out.......oh well I've done up another one now and put on my return label my maiden name see if that makes any difference, as I'm wondering if mine are being blown up as a precaution....rofl...

This still confuses me as to how a computor controlled label can post date a parcel too..Anyway I'm waiting for my brother to send the label back and I'm gonna complain, I already have my IN post on watch as I am always getting another address's post or someone is knocking my door with post for me. So if I complain again perhaps they'll give me a number or somethng to go on parcels where they can monitor my OUT post too..

Sorry to go on but although I can replace a parcel and a couple of squares there is money going out double to the post office and they aren't doing what they are paid to do. So I'm really cross about it all.

this isn't the point though Susan is it? These postoffices both here and abroad really ought to get their butts in gear and get all this sorted.

Apparently we have an office huge place dedicated to lost or unsent mail, and people working in it get paid to sort this out. So where are our parcels then mine have my name and return addy all over it, so if the main label fell off, and this is doubtful as I stick it down all over with clear tape, one of the return addy's should be still intact.. oh well if we get two as you say we'll be that better off..

Hi Rusty and Dusty....so flippin' annoying though isn't it, and my mail I thought had changed for the better as it has all been arriving well again. I won't bother next year signing up for Nov Dec and Jan that'll get them over the worst of the backlog....lol

Maybe somewhere in the postal system there is a person putting together an afghan from these lost squares -- Hmm. Picture a postal worker hard at work crocheting squares together. Unfortunately, nothing remotely constructive is likely.

now that I could see a funny side to, and it would cause me to giggle, but this I fear is pure couldn't give a toss attitude and that makes me cross.

Susan and Cher December is always known for `overpiling` of post, hence posts are slower in reaching their goals. As to Airmail , sometime Surface mail goes quicker [ and is cheaper ] mirjam

Thnx Mirjam, It's annoying.....slow it may be but that doesn't account for mails turning up posted in the future does it.? Christmas Elves again no doubt...that being polite for mindless people at the P.O.

Not mail sends I meant parcels posted before christmas getting to their destination but with a forward date of March on them how odd is this??

I though stamping was done electronically so someone didn't check the date readouts they were shoving on parcels...if they didn't check that out, makes you wonder what else they conveniently forget, or cant be bothered to check. Of course they'll blame it all on the students that they take on two weeks before Christmas to help with the rush, but I don't believe that for one minute they would leave temporary staff incharge of a dating readout machine without some supervision..
