Felted purse..."booga bag"

I did a Booga bag as my first on-purpose felting. I would have liked it bigger, I realized after it was dry.

I cast on my NYCO booga bag with twice as many stitches and plan to increase the sides proportionally -- we shall see how I like that size. I cast it on and then put it aside while I finish up some WIPs. I am making it with a different varigated all wool yarn, however. Judy

Judy, That is a very good idea, both to make it bigger, and the wool. I cannot get the Kureyon here, but at last one of the online yarn shops here has got yarn I can use.

Just now I make a moebious scarf, Inspired by Mirjam, and her way to knit more than one row at a time. She has given me very good explanations here at the NG. ("The magic Non Loop"- tread)

Linda, I completely understand how it is to be beaten of a bug! I haven't done much lately, exept 6x6 squares for exchange, but when I read Mirjams message I got "stucked" :) I got some yarn yesterday, and after that I haven't done much other than knitting ;-)

Here is an idea for a Felted bag without much work ,,, You need to have an old Sweater , that you are not using anymore [ for any reason at all] . Hold the sweater upside down , and sew /close the neck opening. cut off one sleeve at the armpit and sew close that as well . second sleeve cut off at about length of your hand till cuff ,, sew the hole close, and sort of roughly stich sround the cut edge, fold it over the shoulder and stich so that you have either one or 2 small pockets, [you might consider making a Button loop or insert a zip Later ,,, Take the cut off sleeves, if you have seams open it , but you don`t have to,,, cut them lengthwise 4 times ,, Fold over the Hem part of the sweater and sew it leaving an opening for a later elastic or ribbon ,,, If you put a zip you don`t have to fold over ,, now THROW it in with you Hottest WASH Load ,,,, when it comes out use cut sleeves to make your Handle[s] if you intended a zip sew it on if you intended a tie opening insert a ribbon or rope through the folded part ,, Adorn it with embroidery buttons beads what ever ,,,,, Congrats you have made yourself a bew bag ,,, mirjam
