FINALLY FINISHED: But this monyh I have a few things to show you: You may remember I have made a "modern", pink cardigan, bolero type, which I gave my daughter, (I was never happy to wear it !LOL!) I had some more of that yarn, but I was a bit afraid that I did not have enough to finish a cardigan for myself, and bought two balls in a matching colour.
Finally the cardigan is ready, AND I left...two and a half ball of the original yarn! LOL!

I bought some strands OPAL Hagebutte (from an online shop), meant for MD-knitting. The yarn was much thinner than Artyarns, and the gauge was not right for the patterns in my new book. Since multidirectional knitting is so new for me, I want to follow the patterns untill I know the "idea". But at the same time I am a bit impatient, I wanted to do somthing "big", and started at the vest (!!), the "biggest seize", hoping it would be OK. BUT I understood very quickly that it was too small, ....and used the pattern as a start for a scarf:

also have knitted socks from this yarn. As you see the colour repeats are short, and to my tast, it is best for "not too busy" patterns. May be it is best in stockinette.I used a pattern, because I think it is a bit more interesting to work with.

Aud, the cardigan is lovely with the contrast crochet parts and edgings, and the scarf and socks are gorgeous, those colours are really bright and cheerful!
Thank you all for the nice comments - nice to have the support. DH is sure there is a better picture of him (with a pleasant smile) but this one showed the vest better. He wore the vest a lot on our trip as a wool layer felt good most of the time in the early spring weather. Judy
The additional color and the way you used it in the cardigan are excellent design choices which give it that special, one-of-a-kind look. The vest pattern is one my patterns in Modular Knits but I can see why you would have problems doing it with a much thinner yarn. The most difficult part of using her patterns with diagonal rows is getting the size you want. I like the way it is looking in the scarf.
Judy, I was going to comment immediately on seeing your pic of DH in his vest but thought I'd read through the rest of this thread first. Now I see this post of yours, and I can't wait!!
Both the vest AND DH are very easy on the eyes!! :o)
I just LOVE the sweater -- so beautiful with the combination of two colors and two types of work. The scarf and socks are beautiful too -- great colors!
I think it's hysterical that you ended up with 2 1/2 balls of the pink yarn left over when you bought 2 balls before starting for fear that you didn't have enough!!!!!!! LOL
I just wanted to chime in & say how lovely your work it! The sweater is beautiful. I love the combination of knit & crochet. The socks and scarf are also great!
