Knitting Rules! by Stephanie Pearl Mcphee

I just purchased the book several days ago.

I believe it is great, it is very useful and informative. It is very easy reading.

Have any of you purchased or looked at it yet?

She is great!

I read her blog all the time - she's great.

It's not terribly easy to come across her books locally but I've got the Amazon link to her works on my birthday wish list.

Hi Dennis,

My mother gave it to me for Christmas and I devoured it! It was a very entertaining read and I'm sure I'll be referencing it for years.

Stephanie delivers the message with humor. After reading the section on sock construction., I understand how to make them without referring to a pattern.

I have it, and Stephanie autographed it for me at a book reading before Christmas. It is good.

This one is more instructional, a great reference.

Rosemar,

I learned from a formula on the web. I agree, her method is a little bit simpler.

Noreen,

I will make effort to see her, she has been to the suburbs to sign book and talk. I will be there next time.

I might purchase her other book now.

:)

Katherine,

I will make an effort to meet her if she is in the area again.

Do you have any of her other books?

Are they as informative on knitting as this on or more antidotes.?

I have both Knitting Rules and At Knits End. Knitting Rules is very informative where At Knits End is very, very funny. I highly recommend both. My last hat did not turn out the way I wanted and I took Knitting Rules advise and it is now covering my teapot.

While I had "heard of" the Yarn Harlot, oh, must be at least more than a year ago, I've become an avid fan of her blog in the last few months. I am in the process of reading all the blog archives - don't tell me how good her books are (yet! ) just because of all the spare time I DON'T have right now.

My goddesses, I'm supposed to be doing computer programming homework and all I can obsess about is starting another sock. Must avoid more appealing literature until I get a grip. I'm glad to hear it's worth it though, Knitting Rules, and her others, are on my near-future shopping list.

Keith bought me "At Knit's End" which was more a fun book than Knitting Rules. However, there was still lots of helpful advice in it. Her speech at McGill last fall was terrific! She is even funnier in person than in her books. Do you read her blog?
