2007 knit calendar

I purchased several weeks ago the 2007 knit calendar that some of us purchase. The one in the box a couple of inches bigger than index cards.

I think it is the best on in the last several years. It even has some decent sock patterns. I also used one of the small baby sock patterns for our friends triplets. :)

Has any one else purchased the knit or purl pattern calendars?

Hi Dennis

Even though crochet's my thing, I purchased the 2007 knitting pattern-a-day calendar that a supermarket had discounted at 40%, with the intentions of improving my knitting skills. Had a look through all the patterns the other day and I have to say I was somewhat disappointed (I would have been *very* disappointed if I'd paid the full price!). I found the patterns somewhat repetitious (saw several versions of baby socks) or amateurish. By this I mean that the photos of the FOs looked very 'homemade', in the worst sense of that word, and that they looked like the first attempts of a knitting beginner. Not what I'd expect in a published pattern at all. However, I did find it interesting that they included some machine-knitting patterns and I did see several patterns I loved (which I've already ear-marked!) - hats, socks, a sweater or two. Some very lovely original work in there, but I found you really had to look hard for it. I'm happy enough with my $11 purchase.

Just my two cents....

Someone gave me the 2006 one for a gift during January - I think she bought it on sale. I personally would not buy it, I found about half a dozen patterns which I have saved to file, the rest either do not appeal to me or are inappropriate for this hot, sticky climate where I never wear sweaters, just cardigans which can be taken off as the day warms up.

Thank you Michelle and Olwyn Mary, it is nice to see some one respond to your post.

I guess beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. I would give it a 4 out of 5. I found several items I plan to make. I see many I see many patterns that don't look as good as my work, I guess I never thought of it very much. Gail and I both enjoyed this one better than the last several years.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I read some one it a previous post saying how they love to show pics of work here. It is truly one of the best groups on the net. I have made some very close friends in this group, even so Noreen and Don have not sent me thier own info yet!!! It is not uncommon to get an email from one of my dear friends of something in the snail mail.

I never believed and old Jar Head would be in this group for so long exchanging squares, email and other items. Making such close friends in a type only news group.

May God bless you all.

Much LOVE

Hi Dennis

My view is, to each his own. If you like them, keep buying them! And, even better, submit some of your own patterns.

I agree with you about this group; you never know who's name will pop up in your inbox :)

Happy holidays to you and Gail.
