My first knitted dishcloth:

As some of you know just started knitting on October 1st. I have made two hats, a scarf and am working on a sweater for my three year old grandson. Starting the sleeves right now. I just finished my first dish cloth today. It has the NY initials on it and New York State. Take a look:

Gwen, I do love having something to do when sitting around. It is frustrating at times. I hope to be able to read the patterns someday. It all looks like Greek. I know what K and P are though. :) Thanks for liking what I have done. It was fun. Enjoy your Thanksgiving, Susie

Ya know, most people *start* with the dishcloth when they first learn to knit, then graduate to scarves and then sweaters. Ya done good, Susie!

Suzee The yarn shop that gave me my first class got me going very soon with the circular hat and then a hat with dpn's. I'm the one that suggested the sweater. She said that I caught on quickly and that I should do pretty good. I've been frustrated quite a bit but I'm learning. I guess that is how learning comes. Try a dishcloth and get addicted. Here are a couple of nice sites:

I don't know as I'd actually have a use for one, which I why I never did one. The scarves I've been making go pretty fast anyway. But thanks for a couple more pattern sites... ;)

Susie, you will be able to read the patterns in no time - anything you do not understand will be put right by this group. After you have time to sit and think about a pattern it really suddenly becomes clear. As a child I had to work out what the patterns meant as my mother did not knit, so I really found that with a bit of thought it all became clear, in the same way as my school lessons became clear without a teacher, and with the way you have been working with your knitting I just know you will have no trouble at all God Bless Gwen
