My tulips; Report from "spring" (??)

I bought tulip leeks in Amsterdam this autumn when I was there on holiday,a fantastic souvernir ;-)

I "hypnoticed" them to come up from the ground these wonderful days we had. But after some very cold days, some of them got yellow "tips" and I was afraid they had been VERY ill! I hoped they would survive, and anticipated an early spring! Yersterday:

have shoveled snow for hours, both yesterday and even more today! when I am ready, there are much more!(I'll be VERY "fit")The pictures are just "the beginning"!My tulips have got a thick, white blanket, (I hope it's warm)which they certainly love more than sun just now,and I hope they will be OK when spring finally comes!AUD ;-)

Aud, What beautiful scenes. I've never been near that much snow in my life. Good luck with the tulips. Show pictures when they do peek out for the sun!

tulips know about spring snowstorms, I guess. Here we got 2" of snow yesterday, and in the sunshine, purple crocus and early daffodils are blooming their little heads off.

I had snowdrops (galanthus) blooming from January through mid-March, but they are about done.

Hi Aud,

My tulips are just beginning to come up, now to hope we don't get a snowstorm like you, but since we are way below normal we can expect a snowstorm in April.

Hugs,

Nora

Nora, you are a very brave person to say (above a whisper) that you are below normal. I wouldn't even go near saying a line like that because I know at least two or three people on RCTY (looking around the room) who would *pounce* on it in a split second. LOL

Aud thank you for the pictures - reminds me of the time I was in Oslo - deep snow everywhere - lovely for a holiday experience but not so good when you have to shovel it God Bless Gwen

Aud,

I missed the beginning of this thread, but I looked at the pictures of your projects and wanted to say I love the colors you use - especially the blues!

Aud, What a beautiful picture, it makes me miss snow a lot! But then you mentioned the shoveling :) I don't miss that! Thanks for sharing the pics!

Thank you for the responses! The weather has changed AGAIN!, and we have the most beautiful sunshine you can dream of! The snow is melting, but not so fast as I hoped! ;-) TODAY I sat on my terrace, listened to an audio book and knitted socks! :-) (yesterday we had -3*C) AUD :-)

Hi Aud,

It's getting better here in upstate NY, but it's not warm enough to sit on our enclosed back porch just yet. At least I can see the tulips and daffodils have started to come up and the peony tree in our neighbors yarn is putting out new growth so spring must be around the corner.

Hugs,

Nora
