Need help with pattern for Vest

Mar 12, 2007 2 Replies

Ok I have worked 5 rows of K1, P1 ribbing and now I am supposed to start the following 4 row pattern seq for 16 inches but not sure what to do. Oh the CO amount is 217 sts......my biggest Project so far

Row 1. (RS) *K1, SL 1 wyib; rep from *, end K1 Row 2. *P1, K1; rep from *, end P1 Row 3. K....yippie! Row 4. *K1, P1; rep from *, end K1

Ok Row 1 is confusing cause your knitting so why put a with yarn in back thingy...the yarn should already be in the back...unless I have missed something.

Oh and the Vest pattern is from the Family Circle Easy Plus-Size Knits on page 22.

Thanks!

Donna

Because you always slip purl wise unless otherwise stated in the pattern. So the instructions are telling you to slip one purl wise with yarn in back DA
