I'm sorry but I didn't think to offer you details of the stitch I used. It is a simple 8 row pattern with across repeats over 6 stitches.

The version I used was adjusted for knitting in the round.

If you want to use the pattern for a scarf using two needles then I recommend that you cast on another 6 stitches and make a garter stitch border of 3 stitches at each end of the row. That is only because when I'm using two needles I don't like a row to begin or end with a "yarn forward". Anyway, here are the instructions:

Row 1: * yf, k1, yf, K2tog., K1, K2tog., rep from * to end. Row 2: Purl. Row 3: * yf, K3, yf, Sl.1, K2tog., psso., rep from * to end. Row 4: As row 2. Row 5: * K2tog., k1, K2tog., yf, K1, yf, rep from * to end. Row 6: As row 2. Row 7: * sl.1, k2tog., psso., yf, K3, yf, rep from * to end. Row 8: As row 2.

Happy knitting! Bernadette
