Hi Mirjam! Yes, I watched the stream from aolmusic.com for a good part of the afternoon. I was able to go from one concert to another with a click of the mouse button.

I have to say that my hometown, Philadelphia, looked VERY good today. (We were all so well behaved...giggle)

Will it move the priorities of the Great 8? Only time will tell. I have to believe in the goodness of humanity...for humanity's sake.

There are over 25 million names on the Live 8 petition! That's amazing!

is running all of the concerts on a loop so if anyone missed any of the shows and have access to high-speed internet service, it's a great way to see all the the musical acts and other things that may not show up on a media highlights video clip.

I watched Live 8 too, and loved Sarah McLaughlin with Josh Groban singing "Angel". I wish I'd had the presence of mind to tape it.

I don't really think it's going to make much difference with the G8 leaders. There was a poll done in Canada the other day and the results were that the Canadians polled felt that the amount "demanded" by Geldof of our GDP was simply too much, especially if it took money away from our own health care needs. Personally I was offended by Geldof demanding that if our Prime Minister didn't commit to his demands, that he should stay home. Who does this guy think he is? I also think that money would be used to prop up corrupt governments and wouldn't get to the people who really need it. That's exactly what happened with the huge amounts of money raised by Live Aid 20 years ago. That's the most frustrating thing to me, and why I won't donate to fund raisers such as that. I'd rather send it to organizations such as Medecins sans Frontiers, Oxfam and such who have a fairly low overhead and more of the money gets to where it's really needed. (Getting off my soapbox now)

Oh Mirjam... I totally missed it! :o/ Weird thing is, when I was in the city yesterday I stopped into the bank for a couple of minutes and they had it on while I was there. I was even talking to the cashier about it and said that I would have to remember to put it on when I got home. Naturally, I forgot! *sigh* Oh well, I hope it does help in whatever way it can!

I watched part of it, I doubt if it will move them.

The biggest problem, if it does the big problem is the poor countries with very corrupt governments. Does the relief get to the people? I think not.
