OT: It's Official!

Hi gang, Just back on Wed from Grand Chapter. I was given my commission, so it's now official, and I can't get out of it. I'm the new District Deputy Grand Matron of District #21! Had a great time. They put on a reception for me while we were there, and 90-100 people came. I was given a monetary gift to help me with my year. How nice! They must have known that the gas was going up! I had to buy a suitcase down there for all the papers I was given. No lie! I got one with wheels - just try to carry all of that. I'd end up with orangatan arms! My first meeting was with my home chapter last night. It was so nice to be able to have my first there. Anyway, I'm pooped! I was going on about 4 hours of sleep a night until last night - and today I didn't wake up until 9am. Must have needed it. ~ ~ ~ (I'm still snoring, I think) Great to be back.

Good for you, Norma, in getting over the first (and hopefully only) big hurdle. I wish you continued success with your new role. You will thank yourself many times in the coming months for buying a case with wheels. Did you recover well from your ankle injuries?

Congratulations, Norma! *hugs* :o) I'm still giggling over your comment about having "orangatan arms". LOL Good that you got the suitcase though, it will help a great deal in the months to come. And how nice that they gave you a monetary gift.... you definitely will need it with the price of gas skyrocketing like it has been.

Hi Jan, Yes the rolling case was a life saver, and will be over the year, I'm sure. My ankles are getting better. Not all the way there yet, but I have actually gone 2 days with out any wrapping.
