OT - Likely won't be online tomorrow!

I have to go to the hospital very early in the morning for a colonoscopy, then come home to "rest" for the day. Not looking forward to it, but at the same time I'm hoping this helps the doctor to figure out what is going on with my stomach problems I've had over the last 6 years that *nothing* shows up on any of the tests. The arthritic specialist I saw last summer suggested that I could possibly have Irritable Bowel Syndrome, so that's what this specialist is checking on. :o/

Today I have the joy of having nothing but clear fluids all day, along with some medication (read that as laxatives) that I have to take a couple of times to prepare myself for the procedure tomorrow. Needless to say when it kicks in, I will be up away from the computer more than a few times throughout the day. The really bad part of it all.... Matthew's best friend isn't home from visiting his brother in Ottawa, so Matthew can't stay in the city... which means I will have to *try* to go in and pick him up after work today. I sure hope there is a lull in this activity I will be having, long enough to get to the city and back home... otherwise it could make for a very interesting drive. LOL

Hope all goes well for you. As I recall, the actual test is a piece of cake compared to the preparation.

Thank you, Georgia. mmmMMMmmm piece of cake... I'm starving. Guess I should have some chicken broth... I'm SO excited. hehehe

I *almost* forgot that I am only to have clear fluids today, and bought some nice "Chocolate Chip, Pecan, Caramel" cookies from Tim Hortons (doughnut/coffee place) last night. Matthew ate his three, and I ate one before realizing that I wasn't supposed to eat nuts (I doubt that there was even a half a nut in the one cookie) so I bagged my other two and put them in plastic to keep from going stale over the next three days... can't eat nuts or corn or a couple of other things after the procedure either... for three days. *sigh* Of course Matthew was being a butt by teasing me about how delicious his cookies tasted and commented that mine probably tasted even better than his (same kind). LOL

NOT fun, Gem! But, because I know people who DO suffer IBS, am thinking with the kind of past couple of years you (and Matthew) have had, whatwith nerves, etc, this is probably a good test at a good TIME for you to have... Hugs, Noreen "flying" and need to rest again...

Good luck for tomorrow, I hope all goes well and nothing untoward is found.

My DH had it done last year and they found he had a slight case of divertuticulitis (SP). His fast day was on a Sunday so I did not cook a dinner just for me and I kept out of his sight when I did eat.

Hi Gem,

By now you've had the test and are back home and resting. I hope they don't find anything, but then again hope they do. It could all be nerves or IBS.

Hugs,

Nora

HAHAHAHA Thank you both for the laugh!! My dog is looking at me like I have three heads because I'm laughing without Matthew being here to laugh with... you'd think he (Casper) would know by now that "Mama" is a *little* silly at times. LOL

Oh, and Jenny... the Gastrointestinal specialist actually checked out BOTH ends yesterday too. He did the tube down the throat like he had done a few years ago... then did the other end. ;o) And I wouldn't yell at you for that.... I was thinking the same thing. LOL

Guess he figured he might as well cover everything while he had you there. (But, oh my, the visual that conjured up!)

That must have been a most uncomfortable and exhausting ordeal for you. Take time to rest up. Give Casper a pat & tummy rub.
