I've always used Red Heart. Carol In WI
Some of red hearts even says No Dye Lot, I think. I have to keep checking because I find it so odd.
Those No Dye Lot yarns can be very convenient to use, especially if you run out before your item is finished - just go down to the store and buy more. I think they're only available in acrylic yarn.

According to Coats and Clark who make Red Heart yarns they say no dye lot, but you still have to check the wrapper for the numbers on it. That number is the date the yarn was done and if you get a different date, then it's not the same dye lot as it was done in a different machine and date. I learned that the hard way with some soft white that I bought for a pineapple afghan and you could see the difference and I called them and that is what they told me. So always check the wrappers before purchasing.

See Shelagh, I did come back for a little bit.
Thank you all so much for your helpful suggestions. I ended up ordering more of the Encore worsted, and the match is wonderful. I guess I just lucked out on this one.
Happy Holidays, Andie
