Big news

Well, I can finally tell you all about my big plans because I've told the boss this week. I couldn't say anything until now because I didn't want to risk my employer getting wind of my news until it was a certainty.

Brook and I have a long cherished dream to work and travel the world. On December 10th, we leave for the first stage of our world odyssy. We are going to live in New Zealand for two years. After that, the USA for 5, then Europe or the UK. After that, who knows?

We figured if we didn't live out our dreams now, we might get too old. So, we decided to take the plunge. We've already sold a heap of our stuff and have a lot more to organise in the coming weeks.

My boss is sad to let me go, but also sees an opportunity for himself. Should he decide to go international I will have done a lot of the ground work in researching and implementing admin systems that are NZ compliant (I'm moving my jewlery business to NZ).

I'm so looking forward to seeing all the beauty and majesty of NZ and maybe meeting some of the NZ artists that I so respect and admire.

So that's our exciting news.

Wow, that IS big! Good on ya for following a dream and taking a leap

- I think many of us wish we had the courage to just let go of certainties and *live*.

You'll keep posting here, yeah? I definitely want to hear all about New Zealand.

That is such wonderful news! I love hearing of people who decide to take the road less traveled and following their dreams. May it be as wonderful and exciting as you hope! Diana

Wow, Marisa, welcome to NZ. Are you going to be in the North or South Island? We are in the north, 30 mins from Matamata where Hobbiton is. I have visited there and it is great scenery. You are most welcome to get in touch via e-mail or stay if you need a friendly face. Cheers, Jan

Looks like Brook has a contract in Christchurch, which was our town of choice. However, that will be home base. We intend to explore every inch of both North and South. One of my goals was to catch up with you, Jan. I want to meet rcb'ers in every country we visit!

Not yet, Kandice. We would love to be based in Boulder, however we'll go where the work is. Where ever we are, that will be home base and from there we will be touring the US and Canada extensively, in my view the perfect plan to see the US is according to the layout of rcb'ers on the map!!

And it's a doubly lucky day! December 10 is my daughter's birthday. (I've always had a special fondness for that particular date - well, for at least the past thirteen years)
