Earrings using chain for ear wire

Methinks he has a bit of a problem, no? If he was talking about low rise pants or bell bottoms, was he thinking she looked sexy? If so, he _really_ has a problem; a five year old cannot be viewed that way by any normal person. If it was simply the pattern, he could have come up with a better way of saying he didn't like the pants.

Either way, who cares what a five year old wears? At that age, Manda wore leggings and whatever tee shirts she could find. (sometimes Bob's shirts, which was a true Fashion Statement) Nothing ever matched, but so what?

Sounds like he had better watch it, or one of the short buses will come and take him to the "special home where he can be with people like himself."

Please God, don't let the bottoms of the underwear stick out under the shorts. The sneakers are bad enough. Did he lose his rainbow suspenders from his "Mork and Mindy" phase?

Obviously his health conditions are affecting his fashion sense as well.

That worked for my first bunch of kids, the oldest of which is now 30. It wouldn't work for my last kiddo, he's only five, I dread to think what will be 'classic' or retro when he's a teenager!

I mostly agree, but I think it depends on the "it". I won't be doing hip-hugger bell bottoms anytime soon, but if I come across a pair of black ankle-high boots with platforms/wedges, they're mine .

I absolutely *detest* current fashionable shoe wear. Whose idea was it, anyway, to go back to spike heels and pointy toes? Especially pointy toes that stick out as much as *two inches* past the wearer's actual toes? And why is it so hard to find a whole shoe? I don't want something that looks like a running shoe with the back cut out; or a loafer with the back cut out; or a moccasin with the back cut out...grrrr!

Okay, shoe rant over. Can you tell I've been less than successful in recent shoe-shopping ventures?

I'm one of those people who refused to buy my kid (thank god she never wanted them, but it made shopping tricky) the "little bitty Brittney Spears" clothing. A little kid should look like a little kid, not a little adult. She wears jeans and tees now, almost exclusively, but even at 9, I wouldn't let her wear the provocative, adultish clothing that is available. She just picked out two dresses for "good events", and the are darling. One is an orange and coral print skirt and tshirt with a metallic mandella looking design, and the other is darn near an english schoolgirl looking dress that she said "Hermione would wear this".

Bellie buttons and butt cheeks belong inside the clothing, imho. But, that's just me!

Look again. The current In Style magazine has this fall's GREAT NEW SHOES! Including: round toes! (round toes are HUGELY CHIC right now) Kitten heels! Cowboy boots (always comfy)! Clogs! Ballerina flats! Wedges! The Chunky Heel Silhouette!!!! ---and more.

I already bought my fall boots. (I haven't bought fall boots in......20 years? sheesh) At the website below.

I know -- clown shoes. Ridiculous. Women look like fools wearing them.

I loathe mules, because you're supposed to wear them without hosiery of any kind. I love my tights and my socks. Plus mules fall off -- what the hell good are they?

Just wait a month or so. ---Or go to Zappos now:

I realize that buying shoes online seems insane -- I prefer trying them on too. However -- there are customer reviews for many pairs, with size commentary. And the return policy is very good. For really fun tights: Celeste Stein Design Inc: Novelty socks and tights

The offending pants were brown plaid with a drawstring waist. VERY cute in a baggy, mini-hippie kind of way. He "hates hippies". Why? I think because when he was 17 he was "punk" and "punks hate hippies". GROW UP! Man.

Yes, the long underwear are ankle-length, and visible from the knees down to where they disappear into his socks. This look was cute on a

25-year-old, and yet, oddly, repulsive on a 35-year-old. Especially one who has never held a job for more than six months in his life.

I totally agree. It's one thing for adults to wear sexy clothes; adults are supposed to be sexy! Children should wear "cute" clothes. Kiddy clothes. T-shirts with princesses or unicorns on them.

I am so glad I'm well-stocked on shoes... I hate pointy toes and spike heels! I still have my Doc Martens from the 80's, and more recent purchases of clogs. And a lot of other shoes. :)

Agreed. I never bought DD anything that I thought was remotely provocative, and threw away a lot of gifts that looked like "tramps in training" outfits. Even now, she doesn't wear bikinis, belly shirts or low rise pants. Her general school uniform consists of tee shirts (with odd/funny sayings) and fairly loose jeans. She will not wear heels of any type - she wears sneakers or Birkenstocks. (cool ones that we get in Germany)

I had/have it relatively easy: DD has sensory issues, and wants to wear loose, soft clothing. Trollopy clothes tend to be tight, and the fabrics are often scratchy or stiff.

There are just too many bad guys out there, and there's no sense in encouraging these nuts.

I was looking at the "hippy pants" issue as just some item of clothing that the Dad didn't like, or some issue he picked out of the air to argue about. I don't think that Kalera, as a very good mom, would dress her daughter inappropriately.

I found that Land's End and L.L. Bean have a nice selection of clothing that is appropriate and well made. One of the nicest things about is that Land's End carries elastic waist jeans for girls in sizes up to sixteen. (Finding elastic waist jeans bigger than 6X is not easy)

The clothing is made well enough that hand me downs are nearly indistinguishable from new items. Anyone here have a daughter that wears a size 12? (some are bigger, and some are in the "plus" category, because Manda was a little chubby at the time and was very uncomfortable with anything remotely tight) I have a bunch of Lands End stuff that is outgrown, but in perfect condition. There are also a ton of tee shirts with strange sayings or from foreign lands.

I hate to just dump it in the Goodwill box, because our local Goodwill sells the clothing by weight for recycling or to third world countries. I'd be delighted to give the clothes to a little girl who would actually get some use out of them.

My problems too. But then I came to realize that my feet are healthier than most people have. So now I love my feet and hate the poorly fitting shoes.
