------------------------------------------ Kandice,

I'm sorry for that. I indeed did copied this text from somewhere, however it wasn't your website. I guess someone else also copied it from you. I'll remove this wording from my listing as soon as I can. I'm afraid I can't change listings that already have bids. I understand that being an artist and selling beads too, you want to 'exterminate' the competition :)

Regards, austinhamilton

------------------------------------------

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Exterminate the competition! Right......

------------------------------------------ Here's what I said:

Excuse me? Exterminate the competition? You aren't my competition. My beads are well made pieces of art, not imported junk. Your auctions will be shut down before they finish by ebay once I have finished reporting them for copyright violation. Copying text from other websites is against the law. As far as I know, you are the only person who has copied my text.

------------------------------------------

People, please do not buy from someone who does business like this.

LOL - thanks everyone. It just really chapped my hide. I provide a lot of good info on my website to fellow beadmakers and customers and visitors, and it really gets me when someone feels they can just swoop in and take whatever they want. I know it's done and should be expected, but that doesn't make me feel any better about it. I just hope ebay cooperates. :)

As far as I am concerned, this guy should burn in hell. How stupid is he, anyway? ~~ Sooz To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~~Joseph Chilton Pearce

Well done Kandice! At least he's not claiming (directly) that he made the beads.

I wonder....does batch annealing questionable beads really help? Just curious.

I dont know about stupid... he took a chance and figured he wouldnt get caught. What burns me is someone mistaking Kandice's generosity of spirit and abusing it. Im glad you brought it to our attention Kandice, because no one reading this group *or any other you alerted* would consider buying from this thief now. I believe its a very legitimate use of the group. Diana guns kill to fast... lets spit him and roast him over a lampworkers torch... or two.

They're good about shutting down copyright infringements. Since he admitted to you that he used your text, even if he claims he lifted it elsewhere, he's infringed upon your copyright. eBay can be slow but they do actually pay attention on occasion.

We could all ask him questions about his auctions and complain to eBay about inaccurate descriptions....

See, that's the part that upset me. Copyright infringement is common, and a lot of people just need to be educated that copying off a website is no different than stealing from my pocketbook. If he had apologized nicely and pulled the auctions (of course you can pull an auction before it's over!), it would have been a different story.

But making it sound like you were the guilty one Kandice, and were doing this as a marketing ploy - well, that's just crappy. I'm usually not in "crush, kill, destroy" mode, but this guy deserves it. Sweet chocolate jeebus! That a person would call themselves and artist in the same moment as they admit stealing someone else's art is unbelieveable.
